Word Association is a common word game involving an exchange of words that are associated together. [ contractless himself, angel meets that smile with a perhaps unnerving stare, as if he is trying to read more out of aki. quite a bit more effort than he usually puts into things. ]

Even if you find it, what then? You think you're strong enough to deal with that kind of devil?

[ it's unnerving, alright; if aki weren't - well - aki, he'd be cowering beneath that gaze. ]

Why?

[ the stare continues, but angel does not move closer, though the tip of his head sends his hair spilling over his shoulder, and the angle casts only half the light of his halo across his face. in a way, he's annoyed with himself. it shouldn't matter to him "why" aki does anything, believing he has a choice or otherwise.

but this sort of inevitable doom picks at angel the wrong way, at a memory he cannot touch. ]

[ it's an answer aki knows by heart, and he recites it almost emotionlessly, the way one would present mundane business information. ]

Because if I do, I won't be able to defeat him. It'd be too easy to back out.

[ to this, angel looks away finally, hair spilling forward in a way that curtains off his profile. he guesses nothing he would say would change aki's mind and sort of knew that before starting this conversation line, but it still.... bothers him. he doesn't honestly want to look too closely at why. ]
