PREMISE You wake in a dingy room with a vague memory of being attacked by a creature with a boar's head. Or was it a pig's head? Maybe you're alone when you wake, or maybe you're with one or two or three other people. Maybe all of the people you're with are alive, maybe some of them are dead. Maybe the stench of their decaying corpses makes you want to vomit, or maybe you don't even notice at all. Are you chained to something? A pipe? A wall? A toilet? A bed? Or are you free to roam your room as you'd like? Where ever you find yourself, you'll also find a tape recorder within reach. The tape may already be inside, or you'll find it separately, in a bag or envelope with your name on it. It will outline your sins and the rules of your game. Put it in and hit play, and let the game begin.

RULES 1. Post with your character name, fandom, etc, in the subject line. Leave the comment blank, OR take the opportunity to outline what you are and are not willing to play. ["How did it feel, Mr. Walker?"]

Disgusting. Horrible. Wrong. Why are you doing this? Just get her help, please. If you get her help, I'll...whatever you want, I'll do it. If you want me to go back in that room, I'll do it. Just get her help. Please?

[formersurgeon]

[Kit can hear sirens, far off but coming closer.

"I know you would, Mr. Walker. But death cannot be reasoned with. And neither can I."

The line goes dead.]

[His hand shakes again and he drops the phone on the desk. The scissors on the desk, and feels for her pulse again. His own is irregular, and he can feel it. It hurts, and it's awful and he doesn't care.]

[formersurgeon]

[Her skin is cold, and what movement he can feel under his fingers could easily be imagined.

The sirens get louder.]

[denokandafaran]

Don't die. Don't...

[He rests his forhead against her arm, taking in one shaky breath after another. Even that hurts now. He's not even sure the siren he's hearing is real.]

[formersurgeon]

[Three vehicles tear into the white gravel parking lot, two cop cars followed by an ambulance. The instant the cop cars stop, two officers apiece emerge, weapons drawn.

"Kit Walker! Come out with your hands up!"]

[Can he even get up? He seriously, seriously doubts it. He tries, though. He does try. Pushing himself up with a sigh, and almost immediately falling back down to the floor, the chair coming with him.]

[formersurgeon]

[At the sound of the chair, the officers immediately run into the office. Two of them stand over Kit, guns trained on him, while two more examine Joan and call for an EMT to hurry.]

There's someone...in the factory.

[His breathing sounds terrible. Wheezing and shaky. If one of the EMTs ventures to check him out, he's certainly tachycardic. Probably from whatever was in that dart.]

She okay? Please?

[formersurgeon]

[One of them does, and immediately barks to the officers that he's going into heart failure. The officers back up to let them move Kit out to the ambulance. Joan is already in the back. They haven't said anything about how she is as they start an IV on Kit and get drugs in him to steady his heart.]

[denokandafaran]

[He opens his eyes once they're in the ambulance. Everything's still swimming, and there's an EMT trying to get his blood pressure, giving him drugs. Something.]

someone else. In the building.

[formersurgeon]

["They're looking into that right now, Mr. Walker. Can you tell me why your heart would be acting like this? Do you have a congenital condition? Do you take drugs?"]

[denokandafaran]

Trapped. Tripwires. There was a dart. My hand went numb.

[formersurgeon]

["They'll do tests at the hospital. Just hold on."

The EMT moves, giving Kit a clear line of sight to Joan. She's been intubated, an EMT manually forcing air into her lungs, other EMTs swarming around her, injecting her with any number of things, into her IV and directly into her muscles. She's clearly not well. She's also clearly not dead yet.]

[denokandafaran]

[He's more than a little relieved about that.]

I think...there might be a bullet. My arm.

[formersurgeon]

[The EMT examines his arm, frowning. "I thought the blood was hers. Anything else?"]

[denokandafaran]

She had to dislocate....my thumbs. [He closes his eyes again] There was an explosion. Think I hit...my head.

[formersurgeon]

[He examines Kit more closely. "Jesus. We were told that you had kidnapped her. What the hell happened in there?"]

[denokandafaran]

[Kit opened his eyes.]

I never even met her before today!

[formersurgeon]

["And she dislocated your thumbs."]

[denokandafaran]

She had to. I was handcuffed. She saved me.

[formersurgeon]

[The EMT looks from Kit to Joan, looking concerned verging on horrified.

"Jesus."]

[denokandafaran]

I didn't...I didn't want to do that. I didn't. We couldn't get out. He made her swallow the key.

A tape. There was a tape. In the room. There was a tape.

[formersurgeon]

["I'm sure they'll find it. Just relax. We're going to take care of both of you."

He goes to the radio and talks to the dispatcher, telling him the status of both of them. He describes Kit as serious, and Joan as critical.]
