"Both of our intels says at least one of the ringleaders is out tonight," Jason reminds before cocking one of his guns.

"And yeah, I know. Steph seems good. We've talked a little and bonded over crappy biological dads."

"Yeah but I haven't got eyes on him yet." Tim can't really stop Jason if he decides to go in now but he would prefer to get more intel for a bigger takedown of the operation.

"Do you think we could get in and out and tag some of the shipments to get those available to follow and take them before they're all individually given out?"

Tim sits up and starts getting his grapple and bugs out, it's a silly question because of course they're capable. It's whether it's part of Jason's plan tonight.

It's a little tempting for Jason to jump in and stop tonight's shipment but he knows the temptation is likely coming from how long this stakeout has been and his boredom creeping in. Ultimately though, he knows it's better to wait and put a more permanent stop to the weapons smuggling ring than just swatting the smaller transactions.

He takes out his own grapple and bugs but doesn't turn back on the safety in his guns yet.

"Should be easy enough. Looks like we just got the usual goons to sneak past tonight," he replies.

"Sounds like a plan then," Tim grins and quickly shoves his stake-out equipment away and pushed into a hidden shadow of the roof.

He has his grapple out and swinging off the roof and towards the warehouse in the next moment. Landing silently he waits for Jason to join him before they proceed to a prepared entrance.

"In and out in five minutes, see you back up here."

Jason swings with his grapple and follows right after Tim. He then lands with an amount of grace and softness surprising for a man of his bulk.

"See you soon," he says before firing his grapple and swinging closer to a shipment.

Under the darkness of the night and sneaking past goons he starts tagging the crates.

Tim drops down his own entrance, concentrating on the crates that are still inside the warehouse because who knows what will be loaded up for the rest of the night.

He's as silent as they're both been trained to be and quick on his feet. Hopping over crates and hiding in the shadows and he drops bugs into any open containers that he can get to.

Tim keeps a count of the thugs as he goes along and there are more inside than he's seen enter since his stakeout began; enough that he's a little more worried about being caught and starting to wonder if there's another entrance he doesn't know about.

Jason's on the other end of the perimeter. He's quick and efficient but still slower than Tim in sneaking past the guards he plants his bugs. Jason knows that with his bulk, he could easily accidentally make a noise and catch the guards' attention. Tonight isn't supposed to be a firefight. That'll have to be at a later date.

Once he feels he's planted enough listening devices outside of the warehouse, he quietly swings back up on top of a shipping container in the dark.

"Done on my end. What's your status?" He whispers into his comm.

Jason will see a shadow move back to where he left Tim, a shape separating from the darkness as Tim's cape moves with him. The way Tim moves with his cape is all Bruce, using it to hide his movements but also like a security blanket to hide behind.

There's only a flash of colour when he moves his hand up to this comm.

"Done, but I think there might be a reason why we haven't seen any important names. There are way too many people inside for what's come and gone while I've been watching. I think we have a second entrance"
robintohood: ([RH] First mistake)

[personal profile] robintohood 2023-02-01 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Jason's not surprised by Tim's movements. They were all trained by Bruce in how to stealthily and efficiently move in the dark.

"More ground to cover then. You think we need one more backup?" he says.

As much as Jason would love to brawl, he has to play within Bruce's rules now and has to consider other options besides mowing down every smuggler.

"I think it's important to find it and at the very least block it off or better would be to find where it goes. We can't predict their numbers or how much we've missed because of this," Tim is annoyed because there isn't anything on the official floor plans for the place that says it has anything below ground. It opens up so many questions about what's been missed.

"We'll need more backup if we plan to do anything tonight. If they're shipping this all out tonight we'll get Oracle to pass on the bug's signals to the GCPD but I think we should concentrate here. See if we can find that second entrance discretely," It's clear that Tim is going through possible scenarios.
robintohood: ([RH] Haven't lost the touch)

[personal profile] robintohood 2023-02-03 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Agreed. No one suspects the bugs so far," Jason says. He then looks around the pier, scanning for something.

"The second entrance might be somewhere closer to the edge of the pier, towards the street. Maybe an underground tunnel. We checked here before but not under."

[personal profile] permanentlyexhaustedbird 2023-02-06 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah I'm guessing underground, otherwise I don't know how we could have missed it." He looks very annoyed at having missed something that seems so obvious in hindsight.

"It might even just be to another warehouse a block or so down. Just enough to deflect attention away from this place and the activity going in and out." Tim also looks around the pier but the place generally has people moving back and forth even at this time of night.

Tim sighs and goes to slip back inside, "Come on, we've got to give inside a more thorough scan"

"Guess they're smarter than the average slime," Jason says dryly before following after Tim. "Both Batgirls should be on patrol tonight. We're bound to get back up."

He then pauses and stares at the surprisingly busy warehouse and the smugglers around.

"Whoa."

[personal profile] permanentlyexhaustedbird 2023-02-09 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Tim's eyes narrow at the busy warehouse before his hand reaches up to his com.

"There are already more here than there were a second ago." He comments before he talks into the com; Jason will be able to hear as he communicates with Oracle but the changes to their status for the evening. He gets a confirmation of Batgirls incoming before Tim drops the conversation.

"Let's go, find out where all these men are coming from."
robintohood: ([RH] First mistake)

[personal profile] robintohood 2023-02-10 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Jason nods and heads towards the side of the building facing away from the docks.

"Hopefully it's just one we missed," he says. "You have use more guards the more entrances you got."
permanentlyexhaustedbird: (stickthelandingbird)

[personal profile] permanentlyexhaustedbird 2023-02-13 11:14 am (UTC)(link)
"If there's more than one underground entrance then I think we'll have to reassess the whole operation," Tim really doesn't want that to happen. He's already wondering how he managed to miss this, let alone more than one.

They slip through the warehouse keeping up on the catwalks and avoiding the few guards that are up there. Following the flow of men as they move back and forth. There's no obvious set of stairs on the main floor but there's a set of offices against one wall. It's the only option and there's no subtle way to get inside.

[personal profile] robintohood 2023-02-13 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
They lurk in the shadows as they watch the flow of foot traffic in and out of the offices. Jason's also noting the amount of guns everyone's armed with.

"This is a lot. We must've found the hub," Jason murmurs. "We definitely need at least a third person to finish this and make it out alive."
permanentlyexhaustedbird: (cringebird)

[personal profile] permanentlyexhaustedbird 2023-02-22 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Who are you suggesting we call in," Tim's not even sure three will do. Although if they have found the central hub, they have more of an excuse to move in and move in quickly.

They still don't know where this goes though and there's no real way to ensure that they'll get through it without this end being alerted. They could knock out a couple of people but the movement back and forth is too steady to hide for more than a minute at most.

They could get everyone here but if there's anyone important on the other end, they'd likely get away.

"I think we need everyone."
robintohood: ([RH] Aw crap)

[personal profile] robintohood 2023-02-22 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Mildly annoyed, Jason softly sighs. "Everyone" would mean Bruce as well. Though they were on better terms now, working with Bruce during a mission could still be tense at times.

But Tim was right. They had underestimated how large this operation is and it's better to bring in the others if they want any chance at success.

"Fine. Hope no one else had plans tonight," he says. "We're making this a family outing."
