Dance

Dancing well takes serious skill and talent, but just about anyone can shake their hips or tap their feet to a beat. No matter your competency in cutting the rug, there's some pleasure to be found in letting loose and moving your body to the music. Not to mention... sometimes it's fun to get all dressed up! (And if not, then perhaps in seeing a partner all dressed up?)
So, let your cares go and let's dance!
Prompts
1. prom
It's the biggest social event of the year - provided you're still in high school! Do you have the guts to ask your crush to the dance, or are you more the shy wallflower type? How about a platonic date with your bestie?
2. ballroom
Ah, the formal gala: it's prom for adults! Dress in your finest and get yourself a partner for a tango or a waltz. It's for charity, after all.
3. alone
Do a little jig in the kitchen, or enjoy a living room slowdance with a significant other to the dulcet tones of your smart speaker.
4. club
You're hitting the clubs and you're ready to grind! What better place to meet new people who know how to have fun?
5. competition
You take dance very seriously. Like, competition-level seriously. Practice with a partner, or face off against a rival.
6. traditional
Let me show you the dance of my people, from the village-wide revelry of a summertime bon odori to the sensual swing of the hula.
7. adult
Some dances are For Adult Eyes Only. And yes, poles and laps may be involved.
8. wildcard
Anything goes!

and of course now I'm wide awake lol
Well, in those moments, it would be a lie. Who would be able to resist that?
"С Рождеством, любимый." It felt like a moment where she ought to say something else, but there weren't any other words that sprang right to mind, so for the moment Wanda just swayed, squeezing Nat's shoulders gently, and then tilted her head to steal another kiss. "Я люблю тебя."
my sincerest sympathies <3
"I love you," she echoed, smiling as she closed in for yet another kiss. "Я всегда любил тебя."
She could just hear the boys (and Carol) teasing her for this, but she didn't care. She had lived too long with regrets about her choices in her relationship with Wanda - how she'd acted when the team was falling apart, the distance she'd forced between them, both physical and emotional. There had been upsides to that situation, like finding Yelena and her parents again, taking down the Red Room together, but she had spent five and a half long years wishing she had made a different choice, said all the things she wanted to say before Wanda was gone.
Enough time had been wasted. She'd realized that when she'd finally set out to make things right. She wasn't going to waste anymore, and frankly, she was too old for self-consciousness.

She drew that next kiss out, and then only moved enough to press kisses over both her cheeks, too. "I love that look on your face, too. And the way you touch my face like that. And how many nights like this we have."

"Stay," she said. Her eyes raised to Wanda's. "Not just tonight." That was a given, of course. "You've been here more often than not lately. You should stay, more permanently."
It was a big ask, and perhaps it wasn't one she should have made. They had done it before, shared space in the Compound after a very short amount of time. Nat had wanted to take things a bit slower this time, after how they'd ended, but so much of that had already been picking up right back where they'd left off. It was almost impossible not to, and everything in her still urged that instinct on.

There was really no chance Wanda was going to say no, she'd had trouble with her half empty bed before they reconnected and goodness knows that had not gotten any easier or more pleasant to sleep in. It doesn't feel right to just say yes instantly either, though, probably there were things they should consider, she should, other than a cold bed and how nice it would be in every other area as well.
And Wanda could not think of a single one. "Are you sure?"

Natasha wasn't someone who lacked confidence, never had been. When she wanted something, she went after it and got it without hesitation. That didn't mean she was incapable of being cautious. Caution was exactly what had kept her from telling Wanda she still loved her for well over a year, even after she'd gone out to bring her home from Wundagore. It hadn't been the right time, not while Wanda was grieving Vision.
That barrier was gone now. They were together, and while their relationship was different than it had once been, it was good. Nat had always hoped this would be it for her, and she knew that wasn't changing now. This wasn't an impulse; it was a natural progression in a lasting relationship.
"It doesn't have to be now," she assured her. "My home is yours, baby. I'll want you here whenever you're ready, no matter when that is."

That didn't actually matter, Wanda supposed. It wasn't going to have any effect on her answer or even her opinion of the question coming up this evening. Getting back together and that conversation hadn't been planned either, and that had turned out, was turning out, better than she would have guessed beforehand.
"No, honestly, I don't see any reason to wait. It just seemed like something I should ask."

Loneliness certainly played a part in this. She loved her little apartment, but the reason she'd adopted Teddy with so little encouragement was to have another heartbeat around. But Wanda was more than that, half of her heart. She had livened up the quiet, minimalist home Natasha had made these past two months, and Natasha knew she didn't want to live without that any longer.

"I do hate the nights I end up sleeping without you."

The song had long since ended, and the move had faded into the app's main screen. It gave Natasha the perfect opportunity to kiss her girlfriend's chin and take a step back, leading her back toward the bedroom, looking up at her with clear meaning in her eyes. "What do you say we get to celebrating?"
