[two months. that's how much time has passed since serah and her loud, arrogant, hulking hero sped away on a bike to finish the mission noel himself had started long ago. those high-strung three days before the professed assassination never came to be, and noel supposed it had to do with the duo (or trio's) doing while they tumbled through the distorted timelines, finding crystals, and straightening the kinks. he'd been jealous at first, but noel knew better.

honestly, he didn't minded his new objective. protecting academia's director was an important role, and he understood that as well as any aspiring guardian should. he knew firsthand how important the silver-haired man was to the future. setting out to build humankind's new home--now, that was what heroes did. hope was more suitable to the title than snow, the hunter thought, but he kept himself from purposely irritating himself. instead, he busied himself carving a charm in the shape of a pulsian monster recognized for its nobility. it would be the finishing piece to a bracelet he'd been making behind the scenes as hope spent time meticulously doing what he could to save everyone. it wasn't anything special, he thought while softening the wooden edges, but it helped him pass some time while hope wrote out his speeches, spoke them, and listened to his colleagues.

the hunter made one last etch on the charm, dusted it, and inspected his work just minutes before the end of one meeting. he'd tie it the bracelet soon and then present it to hope. it would be a good day, he thought with a smile, and pocketed the piece before straightening himself and lingering closer to his young protectee.]
