Summer break's finally here! And it's time to take our partying out somewhere nice, maybe the beach! Welp. Break out your bathing suits and get ready, it's time to head out to the beach.

Feel free to just make up your own prompt, or use the suggestions below! Today Bakerstreet is your beach to have fun in!

PROMPTS:

01 TIDE POOLS - Well, you don't actually have to check out the beach. There's always the tide pools near by filled with all sorts of delightful life forms.

02 SUNTANNING - Look, some of us aren't with those newfangled spray on tans. We like to get it the old fashioned way.

03 SURFING - Hang ten dudes. Ride the waves. Other. Surfer talk which I have no idea how to fake.

04 LUAU - LETS GRILL UP SOME PORKS AND DO SOME HULA

05 SAND CASTLES - Make a fantastic sand creation... or perhaps bury your friend up to their shoulders.

06 WADING - Enjoy the surf and just wade out into the waves.

07 PICNIC - What's a better place to enjoy fresh summer fruit than the beach?

[ Two years ago today, Barsad betrayed an entire terrorist network to SHIELD. Particularly, for the most part, to Coulson.

It was not a difficult decision. Bane, the charismatic and terrifying leader of the outfit, was dead. As was the one to whom Bane held his loyalty. Barsad, generally known as the second in command, didn't have nearly the personal power or philosophical strength to gather the shreds of the international network together; as soon as the deaths were known, various sections broke off on their own, clawed and fought over resources, suddenly remembered old agendas and goals that had been subsumed into the whole. The League.

And Barsad knew everything. He knew about their bases, and their members, and their resources. He knew what they might do and why. His knowledge was encyclopedic and he gave it all away, in exchange for his own life.

It wasn't the first time Barsad had to cut his losses and remake himself for a new master. He'd done it for Bane once, after all. And it wasn't a cold-blooded process. He may have concluded that the only way to keep himself alive was to betray, but he would have chosen death first if Bane had still been alive. If there was even a chance of it. Barsad, in this case, took the only way out, not the easy way out. He has principles.

Two years later, he is here. On a beach in Manila, situated away from the most urban areas but not in the outright jungle, more or less on the literal opposite side of the world from the people who might still want him dead. At the ripe old age of not-older-than-mid-thirties (his birthdate and year are both lost to time, lost to his, putting it mildly, tumultuous childhood) he is retired.

He runs on the beach every morning. He keeps his skills sharp, because one day someone will come for him, and he is not suicidal, thank you very much. He wants to survive that day, and live to the next.

Right now, he's just finished the jog. Is wading into the water, enjoying the wash of it around his knees and thighs. Is listening to the not-silence of the surf. ]

[Laying on the beach recliner is a short red-headed man who's wearing nothing more than his boxers and shades. He's allowing the sun to give him a much needed tan as he relaxes, finally getting the vacation he deserves. No more running from kids who want to eat his Lucky Charms, no more using his Charms and magic to get away. For now, he doesn't have to think about any of that... and it. feels. good.

But why do so alone when you can share this moment with another? If anything, everyone deserves a good o' fashioned tan. Maybe the young blonde nearby is interested in giving it a go. Doesn't hurt to ask, now does it?]

Will you join me, lass? You'll never know when you'll get a chance to tan again.

[Ralph had been swimming for quite some time today, coming down from the northern part of the ocean to enjoy warmer waters for a while. The lack of a place to live in this area that was new to him doesn't really concern him, he'll figure something out.

But, for now, he's currently lying belly-down on a rock in the middle of the ocean, sunning himself. He had checked for humans beforehand, and since nobody seemed to be really around, he picked this spot to relax.

From the front, he looks like a normal human, though a bit on the large side, while from the back, his tail makes him look like a small orca. Where he comes from, many of the merfolks have tails or other appendages based on different sea creatures, instead of just fish.

However, because of his bigger size, his temper, and the fact that his tail is that of a killer whale's, he's not terribly popular back at home.

He's most likely unfamiliar to Ariel, though he has been in the area before.

The nice warm sun has almost lulled him to sleep, so he'd be fairly easy to startle. However, there's a seagull that's passing by might just decide to take a break and land on his back.]

Raven knew she was very unlikely to get away with the swimsuit she had decided to wear. In some ways, it was better than a bikini and in others, it was so much worse. She could just see the pinched look on Charles' face when he saw her in it. Go change he would tell her and she didn't have anything but her normal clothes to change into. She was absolutely not going to sit on the beach and watch him have fun while she was fully covered up. Watch him flirt with all the girls in their own respective barely-legal outfits. No sir.

She straightened her back when she left the changing room and made her way to the beach chairs. As she walked, she felt eyes turning her way and, for a moment, she wanted to turn back until she reminded herself that one of those pairs of eyes would be Charles. What better way to show him she wasn't a little girl anymore. She took a breath and kept walking.
