talk to me, dance with me.

• generate some dialogue.
• stick it in your top level.
• respond to others.
• have fun! or don't. i'm not the boss.

That is hardly productive. You would be better served doing something with yourself that puts her out of your mind entirely.
[Dwelling is exactly what this stepmother figure seems to be doing, and he knows from experience it doesn't end well. Taking such ill-willed delight isn't any better.]

I'm free to hate her however I like. At least I'm not attempting to return her treatment of me.
[Even if her dead would lift a huge weight off his shoulders. As long as she lived he needed to stay careful and vigilant. With her gone, he could truly be free.]

[He cut himself off, a deep frown on his face. What was the point beside hate for hates sake? There is nothing good gained from hate and he knew that. Had seen with his own eyes where paths paved with hate leads.]
Then what do you suggest? That I just forgive her? Forget the deeds done to me? Ignore the scars left on my body?

[He repeats the word, momentarily stunned. He should have expected the question to come up, but it's still not something easily answered.]
No. You don't have to forgive her. Just like hate takes deliberate effort, so does forgiveness. Some will never be deserving of the effort it takes for you to forgive them.
[He could leave it at that, but he dredges up more words to try to drive the idea home.]
That's why I said to put her out of her mind. It's difficult, but letting hate fester is so much worse.
