[ Bloodied. Bruised. Beaten. Cloud can say that he's lived his entire life being in over his head, but if there's one thing he's never truly been...it's broken. Not physically. Even when pushed to the brink of giving up, he stands back up. It's the farthest his endurance has ever been tested, his clothes practically rags upon his person; his vest hangs on by threads, as if the wind need blow one direction to send them flying. Armor all but gone, tatters through what's left hanging off his body. Yet he stands. How could he do anything else when he survived, holding fast to his sanity amidst the corruption that attempted to seep through his psyche.

How could Cloud do anything else when he bore witness to the epic clash in the skies above him? ...and the ensuing explosion that made his heart drop and eyes visibly shake when the smoke cleared, the debris raining down like smoldering meteorites. He couldn't see her from here... Couldn't see where she fell, if she even did fall. It didn't matter how durable Kiana was; he's learning what it's like to be the one watching. This is what it feels like having to watch when the people you cherish are in danger for you. It didn't make him feel powerless...but if she was the kind of person who refused to give up, then he wasn't going to either. And as he searches the rubble and aftermath, ]

[ His heartrate skyrockets. His arms visibly shake every time he hefts up another slab of stone. His breath clips every time he crushes through a crumbled wall of stone and steel framing barring his path with his sword. Though the immediate danger was behind them, he'd continue to fight if it meant he could keep searching. He wasn't leaving until he found her. And when he does...

It's the lightest he's felt in a long time. His throat feels tight, but he steels it all away to gingerly pick her up into his arms. There would be time to get cleaned up and heal up after. Right now, he needs to get her out of this rubble and away from the impact zone. If Cloud's exhausted, he doesn't dare show it on the surface, feeling bolstered having actually found her.

Even if that meant by the time Kiana comes to, the only thing covering her was the frayed fabric that usually drapes his leg, the only coverage he could afford to give her considering that when he found her, she was naked. As for himself? Well. His shirt and armor are gone, and he's got rags for pants? So he's not very far behind her as he sits and waits. ]
