one; hugging. you just want to give your loved one a warm embrace. be it out of happiness, to comfort them while they're down, or just to give them something warm to latch onto, you just want to wrap your arms around them.

two; kissing. whether it's a peck on the cheek or a deep kiss, a kiss good-bye or a romantic kiss, you find yourself compelled to kiss the other person! be as tender or as passionate as you so choose.

three; holding hands. it's a simple gesture, really -- to reach out and take someone's hand. but that one simple gesture can convey any number of sentiments. what the sentiment is, is up to you, but you find yourself reaching out to take your significant other's hand.

four; carrying. is your loved one hurt and needs a lift? do they want a piggyback ride? or do you just want to spare them the effort of walking? whatever the reason, you're now itching to pick up your partner and carry them to their destination.

five; i love you. you've said it before or maybe you haven't but now you have to say it again or for the first time.

six; dancing. kick up the music, because it's time to dance! but no lone dancing allowed -- you need to have a partner! you can do whatever dance strikes your fancy. personally, i recommend the slow dance, but you can do whatever you want!

seven; massaging. did your significant other have a rough day? did they get hurt? or do you just feel like doing something really nice for them? whatever it is, you're giving them a nice massage now. they'll feel wonderful in no time!

eight; flirting. the easiest way to break the ice or maybe you're just an overly flirty person.

nine; cuddling. sometimes there's just no better feeling than curling up next to each other on a warm sofa. hold each other, lie next to each other, fall asleep on each other -- it's all good here.

[ shou remains seated next to him while he eats, idling scrolling on his phone so as not to be awkward and stare at him. at least the meal seems to have gone over well, and shou is relieved to see he has an appetite this big after all given how he found him so weak. he's no expert on rabbit body language, but if he were to go on vibe alone? it looks like he's enjoying himself. ]

It seems as though your strength is already returning some. That's good.

[ settling his phone in his lap, he finally glances aside. ]

Did something happen to make you end up like that?

[ it seems like another rhetorical question that shou doesn't actually expect usami to transform and answer with words. a simple indication of yes or no would suffice, if anything... or was it simply because he wasn't looking after his appetite and health? ]

[Usami slowly nods his head 'yes' in response to the question asked of him. He could transform now to fully explain himself, but the truth is a bit embarrassing to admit... So he's hesitant to do so right away.

Before that, Usami looks down to his own mostly-eaten food, and then peers out at the table in front of the couch. A belated feeling of guilt settles in as he realizes that the human had prioritized creating such an elaborate meal for his guest, without even making any food for himself. Again, he finds himself struck by the other teen's kindness, and Usami slowly nudges a slice of uneaten carrot towards Shou with the tip of his nose, offering it to him with a deliberate upturned gaze.

Whether Shou accepts it or not, Usami moves around the tray to settle in closer to the human. He nudges against Shou's unoccupied hand with his head to turn it over and holds it between both of his paws; shyly pressing his cheek against the large open palm.

He wants to express his appreciation, as well as his trust, towards the boy who he had judged so wrongly earlier... and being the "charmless" guy that he is in humanoid form, it just might be easier for him to do so without words.]

[ when usami confirms his suspicions with a nod, shou remains quiet. briefly, he wonders if what happened was a result of natural causes or if it was something that was done to him — even as a human, his fear seemed to stem from anxieties that weren't exactly unfounded for, well. a rabbit. in this form, he's all but defenseless. does some of that latent worry carry over?

the shuffling of the carrot catches his attention and while shou doesn't think it's necessary, he does get that it's a gesture of goodwill from his outburst. so, he obliges and plucks the little carrot medallion up, popping it into his mouth.

a peace offering that goes both ways, it seems.

and once he moves closer, shou watches with piqued fascination at the little gestures that place him right in his palm. his fingers give slight rubs into his fur, almost as if he's being overly careful so as to not accidentally use too much strength even in normal gestures. he is... really soft. softer than he could have imagined. like this, maybe it's apparent he doesn't often get the chance to interact with anyone so delicate, though he tries his best. ]

[It's... strange, just how relieved Usami feels, just by having the human accept his little peace offering of sorts. He watches as the bit of carrot is chewed and swallowed with a rapt sort of fascination. Now that he's aware of the human's kindness, Usami finds himself... curious, instead of frightened, at the sight of the human's throat moving to swallow the food. And in a way, it's almost comforting just to witness the human share his plate a bit. Eating the same foods with someone... it's like added confirmation that the two of them really aren't so different after all.

He wants to see more. Compelled to move closer, Usami boldly rubs his cheek against that large hand, and his tail gives a pleased little wiggle as he's petted with a surprising amount of gentleness. It's almost... too gentle? As if the human is afraid he'll shatter.... Or maybe he just doesn't want to risk upsetting Usami again?

After a moment of petting, Usami blinks up at the human again. It looks like he wants to say something, because he does, but for a moment Usami hesitates. The rabbit looks back at the tray that's just beside them on the couch, then thinks for a moment before getting an idea.

He moves again- this time to hop himself up onto the human's knee. The rabbit settles down a bit higher, closer to the thigh, and then-

*POOF!*

Usami transforms again; his humanoid form now perched upon the human's lap.]

...Please excuse me. [He apologizes, though it's really only for his weight and the intrusion of personal space; thinking very little of his own nudity. He explains-] I wanted to say something properly, but I didn't want to knock the tray over when I transformed, so....

[Here they are.]

it's not easy to catch shou off his guard, and while he'd suspected something like this was possible, he hadn't expected to be confronted with it in such a straightforward way. usually he's the one being a little too straightforward about things. so it's more awe than embarrassment that flashes in his blue eyes as they widen — because he'd been startled, his hands have also risen so as not to touch or settle anywhere too untoward. his weight wasn't much as a rabbit and he's still very light now, even as a fully-fledged humanoid. so, shou lets him remain right where he is. ]

...thank you for thinking of my couch before you did that.

[ it would have been an easy clean up, but he still appreciates the foresight.

hands still hovering on either side of usami, shou takes a moment to collect himself, though he's still unsure of what thoughts he should even be having at a situation like this. surely he's encountered stranger, being part of the alien management organization, but rarely does it feel so close, so...

here they are, indeed. ]

[ he is listening, his usual mellow affect looking quite interested now. ]

Mh. [Usami nods his head, and then hesitantly continues.] For yelling at you earlier... I'd like to apologize.

I... had an unpleasant encounter with a pair of humans in school today. Even though I managed to escape before the bullying got too bad... fending them off was tiresome. And in the end, I collapsed.

That's when you found me. [Averting his gaze, Usami softly admits, with a touch of embarrassment-] I thought that, maybe... there was a chance that you were like them, and plotting something bad. But I can see now that that isn't the case. So... Thank you. For saving me. Once I can find a way to repay you, I will.

...

Um, outside of letting you eat me, I mean.

[Another pause; still sitting comfortably within the other male's lap as if it's the most natural thing in the world. He looks back at the human again, curious.] ...Why... did you take me with you?

[ listening quietly, shou understands that this likely isn't the easiest number of things to admit to. and for what purpose — to apologize to him? shoulders sloping as he relaxes into the situation, he hums quietly. shou was never allowed to be weak, but he wouldn't call being so a luxury. ]

I suppose you could say that as a human, I have carnivore tendencies. [ ...factual... ] However, there would be no reason for me to eat you.

[ he mulls over his words for a moment before adding: ]

There's no reason for you to pay me back, either. [ the question sits with him a moment before he glances up at the other boy, blue eyes as pointed and serious as ever. ] ...I have a tendency to protect others. If I'm able to.

[Usami blinks. What a line....

It's the kind of valiant, "manly" line that Usami imagines would make a human girl swoon if they were in his place right now, looking into the other boy's straightforward gaze. And, well... if he's being honest with himself, Usami won't say that it had no effect on him either, with the way that he can feel his cheeks warming slightly. If it were coming from anyone else, something like that might sound a bit too practiced to be taken seriously. But something about this human's blunt way of speaking makes it sound like the plain truth... and not to mention, Usami has seen several instances of evidence pointing to this human's protective nature himself by now.] ...I see.

Then, if I can't pay you back for your kindness... I can at least do this.

[Usami slowly reaches up to the other boy's head and goes to gently pet his hair.] ...Is this... okay?

Your hands... felt nice when you pet me earlier. But I'm not quite sure how to spoil humans in return....

[He cants his head to the side.] Where do you like to be touched?

[ in truth, the touch catches him a little off his guard. his expression shifts, features smoothing in wonder, but he's quite still even so. that wasn't the gesture he was expecting, saying something so bold-faced, even if it was the truth... he's a pretty poor liar and he figures he may as well just be honest and let the other person decide what to do with how they feel about him from there. (which is probably where he got his frightening reputation from.)

he seems to chew on his words a moment. ]

Yes, that's alright. I... [ he breaks his gaze, thoughtful. ] I'm not used to others being comfortable with touching me.

[ if ever there was proof he's not really one to lie. ]

I was expecting this situation would be the same.

[Usami contemplates the words; feeling a bit bad about being one of apparently many who judged the large and intimidating boy unfairly. Although he doesn't seem like the kind of person who'd even be bothered by such a thing, maybe it is indeed harder on him than it seems....]

...Your eyes. [The rabbit finally speaks again; still seated casually in the other's lap as he gazes into those striking, vibrant eyes.] They're... intense.

I was surprised by them too, at first. But... [One of his hands gently cups the other's face.] Now, more than anything... I just find them mesmerizing. They're good eyes.

[He lightly strokes the other boy's face with his thumb.] If you really like it... I'd be fine with touching you more.
