[ not a lot, per se, but people have definitely gotten a little grabby in the past with the ears and tail.. children, mostly, which he can forgive, but the odd adult here and there try their luck, too. ]

I use plant based oils on them to keep the fur soft and waterproof. They smell nice too, which is a plus. .. the oils, I mean.

Have people tried to grab your horns?

Dang, I didn't know oil from plants could do all that. That's pretty cool! D'you buy those or go find 'em yourself? You look like you'd be good at trackin' stuff like that down since you're- [ Squint. ] Are you a little fox? Sorry, heh, I'm only used to the doggy general and Kujou Tengu. I've never seen anyone like you before.

Naaah. [ He shrugs. ] I think it's probably a little different when horns are sharp and fuzzy ears are, well, fuzzy. Y'know? People pretty much keep their hands to themselves in case they get a poke.

My ancestors lived alongside the Valuka Shuna of the desert, which is how we inherited our.. furrier traits, so yes, you could say I'm more closely related to a fox. Also yes, I extract the oils myself and prepare a balm from them.

Well, I mean- you are little! [ Most people would probably realize the whole Tighnari crossing his arms thing probably means he doesn't like being called little, but leave it to Itto to both not get it and double down on it. ] But hey, nothin' wrong with that! Some of the strongest guys I know are little. I got mad respect for you dudes that are compact powerhouses. I can tell you're one too just by lookin' at ya!

Valuka Shuna? [ Pronounced v e r y s l o w l y, because he doesn't wanna mess it up. ] That's a real cool name. I'm an oni myself! [ He jabs a thumb at his chest proudly. ] Dunno if you'd know that since you're not from Inazuma. That's neat as heck, bro! Is it hard? I feel like anything involving the word extract is probably kinda challenging.

I've heard of oni, but I've never met one myself; do oni live outside of Inazuma at all?

'Course I am! I'm never wrong, but especially about stuff like this.

[ He's kind of interpreting that whole exchange like he just gave this little (because he is rather he likes it or not!) fox guy a confidence boost. ]

I mean, it's not impossible that maybe there's one or two of us out there that went to see the world, but for the most part we tend to stick around here. There's a lot of legacy in Inazuma that just feels wrong to leave behind! It's our ancestral home, after all. You Valuka Shuna guys probably mostly stay near the desert too, right?

I see. That would make sense. My people are scattered all over Sumeru, but, ah..

I ashamed to admit I don't exactly do well in the desert heat - due in part to my dark fur, but also I think it's partly my natural constitution.

Hey, c'mon, there's no need for shame! [ If they knew each other a little better, he'd definitely give him an encouraging pat on the head like he does for Gorou sometimes. But that's way too close to ear territory, so better safe than sorry. ] You are how you are, my dude. I'm not a full-blooded oni, but I don't let that get me down! So what if you're not a desert guy? That just means you get to be another kinda guy, and that's cool too! There's lots of forests in Sumeru, right? Can you be a forest guy instead?
