POOL PARTY MEME

Summer's almost over, which means it's time to send it off with one last bash!

If you live under a rock and don't know what a pool party is: There is a pool, maybe multiple pools, maybe even a hot tub. There are pool toys. There are snacks and drinks, both with and without alcohol. Someone may be grilling. Someone's probably on lifeguard duty because alcohol and swimming don't mix but people try to make them mix anyway. If the party extends into the night, there may be fireworks. Etc, etc. Just friends, neighbors, and more having fun in and around a pool.

HOW TO PLAY:

Post with your character, canon, preferences, etc. Assume whatever AU/jamjar/etc you have to in order to get them into this situation.

It really helps if you make some kind of starter or prompt, or just some indication of what your character can be found doing. It makes it a lot easier to tag you. For bonus points, include a picture/description of their swimsuit (if they have one).

Tag around! Especially strangers, a pool party is a great place to meet new people.

Clark is standing a little ways off from the poolside, manning the grill in full Dad Attire: Hawaiian shirt open with a tank top underneath it, swim trunks, and flip flops. On the table next to him is a wide array of grilled meat, buns, snack food, and the like, complete with several coolers stocked full of various drinks. He seems pretty congenial, quick to laughter, and is doing his best to make sure everyone is having a good time. Occasionally he makes the rounds to chat up anyone who looks like they might seem to be lonely.

Indigo has been convinced out of her usual waistcoat outfit in favor of something a little more fitting for the pool, a modest halter tankini. And of course it's black, just like everything else she wears -- when you're glowing and purple, there aren't that many colors that look good on you. But she's never been a social butterfly, so she's basically just keeping to herself, poking around at the edge... with her shy body language, if it weren't for her alien appearance and the fact that she glows like a neon sign, she'd be pretty easy to miss.

As she draws a bit nearer, curious to see the food, smoke from the grill drifts into her 'face'; despite the lack of nose, mouth, or any other orifice that looks like it could be used to breathe, really, she raises her fist to where her mouth would be if she had one... and starts to cough. The other hand is open as it rises as well, trying to waft the smoke away.

Clark doesn't appear all that phased. A career in journalism in the city of Metropolis and moonlighting as the Man of Steel has prepared him for people of all shapes, sizes, and molecular compositions. "Oh, hi!" He gives a small wave with the spatula.

The curiosity she has over the food causes his smile to turn into a grin. "You hungry? Help yourself, there's plenty to-" and then she starts coughing from the smoke and his eyes widen. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry. Can't help the smoke, unfortunately."

[ooc: I'm usually loose with these kinda memes so I'm fine with or without an explanation, but otherwise let's just say he's been jamjared into this situation for a bit]

[Gabriel, as both an archangel and the Judge of Hell, has had a variety of experiences with water. In Heaven, they're fine. Normal. Nothing bad happens in Heaven. In Hell, however, it usually involves souls of the damned fighting to keep their heads above water in the River Styx - now an ocean in his world's version of events. He'd been known to pull out souls who didn't quite belong there.

Long story short, it made him perfect for lifeguard duty. The large, humanoid angel flaps glowing blue wings above the pool, wearing a red Lifeguard shirt in the largest size they could find for him. He keeps his helmet on for some reason, and he also has two swords on his hip. In case of pool beasts that need to be struck down.]
