texting.

You’ve got your TFLN, you’ve got your sexting, now here’s the meme for all those gen texts, phone calls, voicemails, pictures of your cats, and whatever else your little heart can come up with, because who doesn't like a little old fashioned friendly texting. (Or enemy texting, if that's more your bag.)
instructions: What it says on the tin! Leave a comment with your character, include preferences, a start, absolutely nothing or whatever you want. Run around and reply to others. Lather, rinse, repeat.

ain't that the goddamn truth

it took me a while to say it myself
I get it
the worst is sleeping and still waking up feeling burned down
like there's no way out
that court mandated therapist I had said there's meds for that now
but I doubt they'd make a lick of difference

[He also would benefit from going to any therapist but.... uhh..... he's... busy? And also fine. Totally fine.]
Although. There's some interesting theories there. As to how serum counteracts with those kinds of drugs. [.....would they work? Does Bucky's body treat his potential mental illnesses as his "normal" condition and therefore would fight against any medicine given to him as if it were poison trying to alter his condition? Very interesting food for thought.]

oh no I don't see her anymore
thank fucking Christ
worse than court mandated is military
I'm sure there are some decent folk that give a shit about doing things right, but most military medical aren't that great
jaded and poor pay
( and then there's how they treat their vets, but that's a different story. no, between the passive aggression and the way she tried to box him into certain conversations, it didn't take a genius to figure out she wouldn't be much real help. the government only cared that he wasn't going to go around murdering anymore, and they still needed someone with a license to sign off on that. shame that a license isn't proof of quality.
to bucky, this is much better than therapy. being able to speak frankly with tony of all people, have someone else who gets it and struggles in a lot of similar ways, someone who's also achieved so much more in life; that's catharsis. he's not alone where it counts anymore, and even steve never really gave him that. )
yeah between not knowing if it's going to do shit or if you have to increase the dosage to FDA non-compliance amounts, I pretty much decided to opt out entirely
I'd rather figure it out myself than let someone figure me out
you know?

It's always been tougher. We're above military paygrade in terms of what it's gonna take for someone to untangle everything. But best I was ever offered was SHIELD therapists and... even as expats I'm not so sure about that one.
[He probably will never trust anything SHIELD related ever again. And he thinks he has perfectly good reasons. Even if good people are still trying to keep that secret ship upright, he just can't with them. Too many messes.
There's also the issue that this is slightly an excuse as well because getting Tony to spill his guts about anything is likely never to happen. But especially with someone getting paid to listen who will probably in turn get even more money for spilling said secrets... tangled webs. Just easier to keep on keeping on.]
There's also an adjustment period that I think you appreciate as well as I do that there's no time for. [Groggy? Moodswings? Who knows what else? What if they need to go out into the field? Can't have that. Tony also just generally can't have anything altering his current chemistry. They just. Have to deal with it. ...and it is nice to have someone that understands that. It's always been hard being candid but hey, being tired will do that to you. It's nice to have a listening ear that gets that.]

shield was trash
( there, he said it. )
when things get that big, there will always be someone slipping through the cracks
that's just the nature of things
we were only ever the few of us because of that, during the war
the howlies, I mean
( and even with a team that small, messes can still happen. the difference is that things become much more manageable, then. with shield, there was bound to be conflict outside of anyone's control. but that's also why bucky isn't into the idea of large teams, doesn't associate himself with more than a select few and doesn't think of himself as an avenger. )
yeah I can't be bothered
I got work to do
you got work to do
better to already know how to deal with it than wait to find out
( bucky finds himself more inclined to trust technicians, in his case, shuri and tony being the only two in that category. there's a difference, though, understanding something that's hooked into him, how it might affect him, compared to treating him like some magical lab rat like any medical practitioner might. the way they see the serum too isn't quite the same, though bucky wouldn't put it past tony's curiosity to wonder anyway. that's just a stark thing, though. he knows tony wouldn't do anything without his okay. )

[Can of worms alert.]
It's a double-edged sword. The unending tiredness comes from all that work but.
What would I even do without it.
[He's not sure he can exist without stuff to do. And so... they continue on.]
