The precipitation that the whole world has a love/hate affair with. It waters the garden for free and ruins baseball games. It cools you off in the summer and it causes more ice and sleet to appear in the winter. Sometimes it is lovely and falls at a decent pace for a few hours, other times, it blasts the whole eastern seaboard away. Poems and songs have been written about it, people have danced in it, others have cursed its entire existence, and still more refuse to go out and drive in it. Now it's time to roll some dice and see what the weather will have in store for you today.

>> POST with your character
>> TAG others, use RNG if you need to, or just make up your own scenario if you want!
>> HAVE FUN.

i INTENSITY:
001 DRIZZLE - It's not too heavy or too light of a downpour, just enough to wash away stuff in the air, water the ground, and clean up the streets.
002 MONSOON - It's horrible and awful! Rain is coming down in buckets, no one can get anywhere, the wind is whipping everything about, and now the cable is out.
003 SHOWER -Reminds you of early spring, doesn't it? A nice shower to make everything all green and smell fresh again. Lovely.
004 FLOOD - While rain is good, it can sometimes be bad. Grab a boat!
005 CATS AND DOGS - You’re lucky with this one. It’s not the worst storm in the world, but it’s still pretty heavy. Be careful when driving!

ii PROMPTS:
001 A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT - You know all those stories that start off with a stormy night before something goes wrong: a murder, an attack by ninjas, a crime. It is one of the best known clichés in the world, and you're stuck in the middle of it.
002 HUMIDITY - It's that time of the year again when the humidity rises and the rain has two options: make it worse or make it go away. Good luck getting the latter.
003 GRAY RAIN OF DEPRESSION - We all know this one. Stuck in the middle of nowhere, or right after an argument, or something that leads to angst, the rain decides to express someone's feelings in a physical form, serious or over the top.
004 QUIET MORNING - Nothing to do, nowhere to be... sometimes the rain is a welcomed addition to a quiet day. Gives you an excuse to stay in, curl up in a warm blanket and a book, maybe a loved one or a cup of hot chocolate. With sprinkles.
005 PUDDLES - After it rains, what is the number one thing you have to do? Go put on some rubber boots and splash around of course!
006 SUDDEN STORM - It might have been predicted, but sometimes storms just sweep in and do their thing with little to no warning. Hope you're not outside.
007 THUNDER & LIGHTNING - Loud, surprising, scary, ominous, comforting, fantastic to watch or listen to... some like thunder and lightning, others not so much. Of course, if this happens before a big confrontation, the universe is telling you something.
008 CAN'T GET WORSE - You did not say that. You did not just say that. How many times does this need to be seen in movies and books before anyone learns?
009 STUCK - No, no, no, no. This cannot be happening. What happened to the ten percent chance of rain? You forgot your umbrella and now you're stuck in it!
010 RUINED PLANS - You had all these wonderful plans to go outside, have some fun in the sunshine, do some errands, maybe a date... and the weather goes against them.
011 DANCING - Sometimes rain is a cause for celebration, or you just feel like doing something spontaneous. Grab someone to join you and get wet!
012 RAIN BATTLE - The most intense, important battles happen in the rain. Verbal spars, punching someone in the guts; it's all dramatic and climatic. And no one slips.
013 DATE - Aww, don't let the weather ruin your date! It can be really romantic, being out in the rain, and it's always fun to go with the flow.
014 A DAY INSIDE - Sometimes, it's just better to stay inside and enjoy something simple and easy like board games or catching up on TV shows, or maybe the bills.
015 WILDCARD - Was there something I missed? Did you want to roll again or choose your own adventure? Go for it!

['Not her office' was what the email had said. Not her office, not somewhere too public. She should have said no. She should have ignored it and sent it to spam instead of replying. But she was feeling optimistic today. Or, maybe just vengeful. If this was some kind of kidnapping ploy or sex trafficking thing, she'd rather she be the patsy to fall for it than someone less capable of getting out of it. Too many stupid people in this day and age. Trusting. Blind. Sheep ready to walk right into the slaughterhouse.

Okay, fine. She needed a day off. But clearly she wasn't going to be getting that. The overhanging clouds that had been threatening to regurgitate their load all day finally split while she was heading towards the coffee shop on the edge of the industrial quarter. Usually teaming with construction workers, there'd been a blown valve that had closed down everything for a week while inspectors went over the cause. The diner that already smelled like someone had let the coffee burn down to a sludge and then remade a new pot from old grounds without washing off the sludge only had four bodies in it. She could make them out, barely, through the sheet of water that threatened to try to do its best to drown her while she stood outside glancing in. Not exactly too out of the way for a trap, but the state of the diner as she stepped in and smelled that burned too long coffee scent made her feel better about any collateral damage she might do to the place if she needed to.

Two bodies were at the counter, hunched over the remains of greasy eggs and burned toast crusts, one was sitting at a table, doing the crossword, and another was in the booth at the corner, looking at her like he expected her. That had to be her party. If not, she'd just glare at him and make him feel uncomfortable until he left. It might make her feel better about the fact that even her underwear felt soggy. She squelched as she walked over to the booth, pausing by it and already starting to build her own puddle.]

Why not the office?

I don't like it.

[ His voice is a low grumble, scratchy like someone's old record collection left too long in the attic. Baseball cap obscures a good portion of his face, although brown hair hangs just below the cut of his jaw, and the way he sits in his chair is deceptively casual. The rest of his outfit is much the same. Old Army surplus jacket, jeans, dark boots with muddy scuff marks. The man shifts, almost a visible instinct to rise, but remains seated. He gestures towards the empty chair opposite him. ]

Sit down, the waitress should come around soon.

[ Soon-ish. Bucky has been there for some time already, watching foot traffic trudging through the downpour from relative safety. There's a very small laptop resting beneath an elbow and a half-full coffee mug beyond it. Between them, resting close to the table's edge, is a laminated menu. It's been there since said waitress slapped it down and wandered off to assist someone less intimidating. ]

If you're gonna stay. [ His tone is mostly neutral. But there is a faint undercurrent of amusement present. ]

[If the waitress thought she was a better option as a customer than dark and broody here, she might be in for an unpleasant surprise. Lifting her hands to her hair, she moved to wring out as much water as she could, the splatter hitting the floor, then her boots and jeans before she finished. Shrugging out of her soaked jacket, she draped it over the back of the booth, doubting that she'd be asked to remove it. Not enough traffic for there to be need to make room.

His voice was low. Quiet. Like he was trying not to be heard. She saw the tension, but didn't attribute it to almost moving to get up. Maybe to checking a weapon. Maybe to resist throwing something at her. Who knows? She made enemies she didn't even know about, especially after The Incident. Goddamn Avenger fallout raining down on her parade. Talk about bullshit.]

I'm here. I'm soaked. Might as well make it worth the trip. Unless you just wanted me somewhere out of the way, in which case, I'm not going to make it easy on you.

[Said matter of factly as she pulled the menu over, wringing out her shirt under the table as she read it.]
