Can you write a thread where you rely only on dialogue? No description, no introspection, no other prose. Just character talk.

Rules
1. Comment with your character and info. On top of that, do not leave your top level blank; your comment should also include a line of dialogue. It can be original or taken from a generator, like so.

2. Other players come in and keep the conversation going.

3. Who knows where lines with little context may lead?

"I never said I'd be gone forever. It's a trip to Jotunheim, a risky one, but unless I get eaten by a giant, I'll be back in a few months."

"Damn...I should've been meaner to you so you didn't get this attached. Your chances of dying here are--well, everyone dies eventually, but you've got at least twenty or thirty years here, barring murder. Come here, I'll hug you."

"...I suppose you're Nordic. Maybe you could handle the cold."

The Swede instantly shuffles over for his hug. "Y... yes... I can handle it, if I am freezing, I will just think about warm things."

He'd definitely need warmer clothes. And better shoes. "Please I can come with you?"

[coldsong]

"There's a point at which just thinking about it will be ineffective." Here, have a hug and some head pats.

"I suppose some spells on your clothing could work. Can you use snowshoes without breaking an ankle?"

At least it stops the almost-crying. He always gets nice and soothed from those headpats. "I... I don't know... oh... maybe I can practice?"

He must really want to come if he's trying to make such a big effort. Poor Swede is very attached. Loki should've been meaner to him.

"If you're sure you want to do this, you're going to have to get used to my magic very quickly, because it may end up being the only thing keeping you alive at some point."

"...worst case scenario, I suppose I can always just bring you back here after the trip's over."

"Ooh... I did not know that you knew magic..." Loki definitely told him before but he just forgets. He smiles toothily, sooo happy he gets to come.

"D... do I get to bring my puppet?" That's a new thing. He has a puppet now. Someone made him this puppet, probably Black Pete or Buttons or someone else who whittles. He's attached to it and sleeps next to it... hopefully Loki won't mind. https://i.imgur.com/K1y0kPS.png

"How did you think I conjured up the bracelet then? You know what, never mind."

"...who gave you a puppet? It's...actually, that's decent work, can I hold it?"

"I... I thought you had it in your pocket..." But now it's on the Swede's wrist. He looks at it every five seconds because he loves it so much. Curled up in his barrel, with his bracelet, is all happy as he gets.

"Petey made it for m-" No, he shouldn't call Black Pete 'Petey'. "Black Pete whittled it for me. A-and Wee John made the hair and the clothes..." It was for a talent show that didn't happen, now he just plays with it. He shyly held it out. He was going to sing a song as the puppet.

Loki will be very gentle with it, though it's clearly made to be sturdy. He works the strings like he sort of knows how, a soft look crossing his face. "You know, my favorite toy as a child was a jointed wooden squirrel with a real fur tail. It didn't have strings like this but the way it moved was similar. I called it Ratatoskr."

"Oh... I would have liked to play with Ratatoskr. T... there are no squirrels here. D... did you know that?" Even though Loki is so careful with his puppet, he still reaches out to take it back. Swede is very possessive of anything he gets his hands on, sharing isn't his best quality, probably because other pirates always try to take his things. He'll sometimes hide his bracelet arm behind his back... just to be safe.

"Please give it back please...."

[coldsong]

"You trust me with your life, but not your puppet?" He's a little amused, but he was never going to steal or harm it, either, so he hands it back over.

"No, there are no squirrels on the ocean. They'd be bite sized for most of the fish."

"All right. You sit tight for a few hours here, and I'll fetch a coat and some boots and such for you. Then we'll go."

He instantly wraps his arms around it, looking confused. "Y... yes?" Why wouldn't he trust Mr. Loki with his life? He'd trust just about anyone with his life, it is not very important. At least, not as important as that puppet.

"Ooh! I've never had a coat and boots before... my- my shoes always pinch so I don't like wearing them." They're probably two sizes too small.

"I... I am excited... I always wish I had socks."

[coldsong]

"You should probably reconsider your priorities, but we'll talk about that later." He's going to have to frost-proof the puppet, evidently. Ooh, maybe he can shrink a human-sized coat down to fit it, that would be hilarious...

"You're going to need socks and boots if you want to keep your toes." He reaches out and musses his hair. "I'll return. Try and get something to eat while I'm gone. See if you can catch a fish."

"Oh... yes! I want to keep all my toes!" With his luck, he'll instantly develop frostbite. He giggles at the mussing and instantly vows to catch a big fish. "I... I will catch a fish... a few fishes. Big ones!"

Loki told him the fish would come if he sang to them, didn't he? The Swede instantly shuffles over to sit on the docks and starts singing, in Swedish, about the fiskar to all come listen to his song. M... maybe if he moves closer to the water... maybe they'll hear him! Hopefully Loki won't stay away too long, Swede can't swim.
