She nodded, though hesitated for just a moment as she tried to calm her nerves. Then she leaned closer slightly.

Since he was a little taller than her, though, she also had to tilt her head up just to meet his lips.

It wasn't bad for a first kiss. A bit of a peck, really. Gene kept his eye on the door as they did this, his eyebrows raising at the door budged just a bit.

"Ha ha! Bingo!" he laughed, slapping his fist into his palm, "We did it!"

And then it slammed shut again.

"...Well, crap. Guess we need to give it a bit more effort."

"Oh...o-okay..."

It hadn't been too bad, if she was going to be honest. But having to put in "more effort" made her a little more nervous.

"S-so...?"

"Alright, let's step it up," he sighed, placing both hands gently on her shoulders, "Just put your hands on my waist, okay? Now I lean in like this, and..."

His lips crushed a little more firmly against hers, this time. Gene was clearly a little more into this one.

She stiffens a little as her eyes widen; she hadn't been expecting the force of this kiss, and she can't hold back the stifled gasp against his mouth.

"Eh?" he stopped partway, pulling his head back for a moment, "You okay?"

She took a shaky breath. "I-I'm sorry...I-it just...surprised me."

[caster_blaster]

"Do you want to take a break, or continue?"

[strengthinkindness]

Thinking it over for a moment, she then shook her head. "N-no, I...I-I think I'm okay..."

"Let's try again, then," he nodded, this time wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her against his body, "Just do what I do. Put your arms around me, as well."

He kissed her again, this time starting along her throat and working his way up to her lips.

A small noise escaped her when he kissed her throat, and a shiver ran down her back when his lips came back to hers. She still felt a little unsure about all this, and she couldn't help wondering how this would help them get out.

Still, mindful of what he told her, she slowly wrapped her arms around him, letting her hands rest on his shoulders as she leaned a little into him and returned the kiss.

One of Gene's eyes crept open as a faint band of light from the door's seam became more and more visible. He didn't break the lip-lock, continuing to check on it as they went along.

Though she didn't notice the door, she pulled back slightly; not a lot, but just enought to break the kiss, needing to catch her breath.

Gene raced to the door as he saw it closing.

"Nononononononononononono!" he yelped, diving to try and jam the closing door...a bit too late.

"Aw, crap!" he sighed, hopping to his feet, "We almost had it, that time. Just a bit longer and it would have been done."
