And at this point I’m afraid to ask
![]() Because nothing's off-limits! how to play - comment with your character. - in roll the...personal questions. you knew what was coming. you read the title. - tell the truth. lie. deflect. get mad, sad, glad, or creeped out. get personal. - be nosy to others! |

Generous or not, it's true. I didn't ask for this. It was done to me, to serve a purpose, and even if they made me think I wanted it... [Silver Swan tilts her head, the cybernetic enhancements around her mouth and the surgical scars should be obvious. The scars run all along her throat, with a few visible on her chest until they are covered up by her costume.] It came with a very steep price.

Oh I see. You're a cybernetic entity. [That's interesting. Jon does look, when invited to, not that not-being-invited would make him not look. He's rude that way.]
Medical bills?

Sanity. Bodily autonomy. Though Sebastian made me think I wanted that, too. [She absently taps her long, metallic nails against the bracers that she wears, and closer inspection will show that some kind of cybernetic alteration has misshapen her hands to resemble a bird's talons more than anything else.] Pretty people like to use their pretty bodies to get things. Use their pretty faces and their pretty words to manipulate.

Oh yes, I'm no stranger to the machinations of attractive sociopaths. I went to public high school.
Are you still in the company of the people who made you this way?

[Silver Swan gives a little half smile.]
Oh, no, no. Sebastian got bored of his toy, and when Veronica came knocking with a briefcase full of money, he was only too happy to sell. And now I have to do what Veronica says, or she'll take away the medicine that keeps me from falling apart.

I should think for now it would be in your best interest to be obedient then. In future? Perhaps you can find a different supplier. But don't rely on the 'heroic' contingent to give a damn, if you'll excuse my coarseness, they never do.

[The mention of the heroes makes her scowl. No one came to rescue her, after they defeated Circe in New York City and Dr. Psycho fled. They just let Sebastian Ballesteros take her back out of the country, back to Argentina for more experimentation.]
Veronica changed some of the cybernetics, and other drugs don't work as well as the particular cocktail she gives me. My body will start to reject all these implants, and that hurts so much... [Vanessa shudders at the memory.] She withheld the right drugs from me for a while, so I'd learn the lesson. Obey, or die.
I don't know anyone else who would know how to make the anti-rejection drugs that I need to survive.
