So you should let "vigilantes" uphold the law rather than a police force? It would be nice if it was that easy. Though I'm not sure one man, or even a handful would be able to deal with all crime that happened in a city like New York. It may have worked in the Wild West but then a town had like, less than a hundred people. What about non-violent crimes? Scams? Improper waste disposal? Traffic crimes? You'd need like a scam hero, a traffic guy, a captain planet...a whole department of super heroes!
