They're peering over the counter, staring. At everything. Sniffing the air. Maybe salivating just a little. )

How delightful! Eateries such as this seem to have once been very common in my world.

[ Now they're in Meme Denny's though. ]

And fret not, I have managed to acquire plenty of the local currency.

( It's barely a mumble, one they let slip out as they're distracted (and a little overwhelmed) by it all. But they soon straighten themselves up and look over to their companion with a satisfied smile. )

Then you'll be able to acquire plenty of dishes.

( They point over to the waffle, eggs and bacon of a nearby patron. )

Starting with one of those. ( A beat. ) Please.

I have few such experiences as well.

[ The names on the menu are a little odd, but she's seen advertising language in ancient places, being from a distantly post-apocalyptic world. ]

A 'Belgian waffle slam' perhaps.

( Well. That's good to know. At least they're not alone in their lack of experience. They'll figure it out. Can't be that hard, right?

Nanachi has zero idea what a lot of this stuff is. It really doesn't matter, though. It's food that actually looks like food, and that's a vast improvement compared to what they're used to. Anything would suffice, really. )

[ Salamandinay has much higher standards - although she doesn't seem to be letting her social status color her interactions with Nanachi, or with the staff. Her mild confusion is doing a lot of work there... although this particular waitstaff seems to be used to odd visitors by now.

Like a bunny person and a scantily-clad dragon lady. ]

It seems that they specialize in their culture's breakfast foods... I'm not quite familiar with most of this though.

( Might not be the weirdest thing ever seen at a Denny's! At least not this one. Again, Nanachi's standards are pretty low here. If strange humans aren't trying to capture them - or worse - they're content to ignore them.

Except for when it comes to the acquisition of delicious, delicious foodstuffs.

They look over the menu with her. Ah - there are some pictures. Helpful for pointing at so they can decide what they might like next. And to educate Salamandinay with their very limited knowledge. )

Well... Those are eggs... Meats of some kind... Golden bread...?

( Where she's from might not have eggs and vague meat products! )

I think... the waffles are a kind of bread, and the pancakes are another kind of bread, if I am cross-referencing these items correctly.

[ She recognizes sausage and eggs. Bacon is another one she's working out by wracking her brain. ]

These 'omelettes' are interesting. I think there's more cheese here than I've ever seen in my life.
