Gettin' a little cramped in here...
STUCK MEME

Regardless of how you both ended up in there, this is your life for the next few...Minutes? Hours? How are you gonna get outta this one...?

Stuck in...
- An Elevator - A classic. These things seem to break down an awful lot these days.
- A closet - Or a locker. A large cabinet? Whatever it is, It's a pretty tight fit...
- Amusement Park Ride - Whether it's a ferris wheel or a roller coaster or something with a little less visibility, it's broken down. Depending on the ride, it could be more fun this way...
- Bathroom - At least there's a toilet?
- In The Wild - You wanted to enjoy the outdoors, but the weather had other plans. It'll clear up eventually, but until then this cave/cabin/tent/whatever will have to do.
- Cage - You've been captured! Or you got into some really stupid shit at the zoo. Or something.
- Handcuffed - You're not stuck in a specific place, but you're still stuck together!
- The Playplace - Most likely this was not meant for someone your size. Why did you do this?
- Wildcard - Do whatever you want!

He leaned forward against the seat in front of him. “I know they like to pause them at the top, build up a little anticipation… but this is kind of ridiculous.”

She had spent the night riding the various rides, each a little scarier than the last, with the end goal being a terrifying roller coaster ride...only for the darn thing to seemingly break down within minutes of starting.
Pauline looked down at the ground below and let out a wheeze; maybe it would be best if she kept her eyes forward.

And because this was the biggest coaster in the park, that line wasn’t exactly short either. Heaven knows Minoru was on the verge of being stir-crazy down there, rocking back and forth on his feet.
“It’s a good one.” He still added, though. “I’ve ridden it twice already today.”
no subject
Just watching it in action from the line had already had her stomach feeling as if had been doing nervous little flips.
"Are you like, super into rollercoasters or...?"
no subject
He leaned a little farther forward, but was stopped pretty solidly by the restraints.
“Like, you know the drop we should have taken already?” He pointed straight forward. From the angle of where they were, it was really hard to see what was coming up. “There’s another hill and another big drop right after that. All that up and down, I swear, there’s probably a good twenty seconds where you’re not even in your seat. It’s great!!”
Minoru wasn’t necessarily a roller coaster aficionado, but he was definitely a thrill-seeker. That twenty seconds of weightlessness/air time was worth the long wait. Boy did it his blood pumping!
no subject
"T-twenty seconds? Uh, wow! And here I thought the Tilt-a-Whirl was as exciting as it gets...!"
no subject
His brother Isamu had broken down the physics of it before, but Minoru couldn’t follow most of it. He just knew it felt amazing. Tilting and whirling were both fun, definitely. But this was a little more… out of this world. Whether the comparison would make Pauline more or less nervous, though, was still to be determined.
no subject
A few seconds of weightlessness between drops and loops and stretches of speed...Pauline wasn't sure if the tradeoff was entirely worth it, but a ride that consisted of just floating around would definitely be more her speed.
no subject
Floating would be fun for about five seconds. Minoru in zero gravity would give new definitions to the phrase ‘bouncing off the walls.’
“Twenty stories high is nowhere near outer space, though.”
And yes, that was how high they were currently stuck. Well, probably more like nineteen and a half, since they hadn’t quite made it to the very top of the first hill.

Sure, she had been in a plane before, but somehow this was a bit scarier. Perhaps the idea of falling was a little more real being both this high off the ground and close enough to see it. She fiddled with her restraints a bit, as if testing whether or not they were actually in place correctly.
"I guess the only way off this thing at this point is if they either evacuate it or get it running...," she sighed. It didn't seem as if either was in the cards anytime soon.
no subject
“Oh geez. That could take hours…” he groaned. At a theme park, that might as well have been an eternity! Or at least another long line.
Watching the girl in front of him fiddle with the restraints, though, gave him an entirely different idea.
There had to be an emergency release somewhere, right?
no subject
Pauline slumped back into her seat with a sigh. She should have known this was a mistake. She had just wanted to try stepping out of her comfort zone for once and this is what it got her: stuck 20 stories up on a broken roller coaster. She looked over her shoulder at him.
"So what do we do in the meantime? Just...sit here?"
no subject
“You can sit and wait.” He exclaimed. “I’m out of here.”
Fortunately for anyone else who was not crazy, it only affected him. He didn’t break the restraints for the entire ride or put anyone else’s life in danger. But if there were plans to get the ride going again, those plans were scrapped the moment anyone watching the scene saw him stand up. They’d have to evacuate now. For safety’s sake.
no subject
"Wh-what are you doing?!" She shrieked. "We're twenty stories up, remember?!"
no subject
“I’m not going to jump! That would be crazy!” He insisted.
He knew very well that they were about seventeen stories above the survivable limit for that. (And about eighteen stories above Minoru’s comfort limit for that.) Of course, that knowledge wasn’t stopping him from holding onto the car and stepping over the side, onto where a sliver of the wooden track was.
no subject
"What you're doing right now is like, also crazy!" she replied, anxiously. "It's probably totally not allowed also! E-even if you don't get hurt, this is the kind of thing they ban people for!"
She couldn't bring herself to look towards the ground, but she imagined it wouldn't be long before park staff noticed a guy climbing out of the broken roller coaster.
no subject
But Minoru wasn’t thinking about that. He thinking about splinters. This was a wooden roller coaster, after all. (A record-breaking one in terms of speed, but still wooden.) It’s why he held onto the metal track at first as he dropped himself down into a hanging position.
“Hey, if their rides are going to break, I have to find my own fun.” He smirked. “Don’t worry! I’ll let them know you’re stuck up here. And tell them to hurry up with the rescue efforts.”
As if that would make it any less ban-able…
no subject
"You're the one that's like, gonna need rescuing if you're not careful!" she shouted. "There's a reason they tell us to stay in the cars!"
no subject
Everyone who was on the ride with them was leaning over the side to watch what was going on. But fortunately, they shared her opinion that you’d have to be out of your mind to actually climb out of the car. It was strongly suggested to leave bags and phones in the cubbies, so no one up here could pull out a phone. But on the ground, it was definitely only a matter of time.
Especially as Minoru dropped down to the first beam on the wooden support structure beneath him. Unlike the flat boards that surrounded the track, the lattice was as thin as single piece of wood. It was more akin to a tightrope, but with no safety net.
Minoru landed in a precariously-balanced crouch. But he steadied himself quickly as he rose to his feet next to one of the diagonal supports.
