The Dragon Rider AU Meme
Prompts
1. Hatching
Perhaps you met your dragon companion at its birth, knowing it from the moment of its very first breaths. How will you train your dragon, and what do you think of your fellow dragon-keepers?
2. Taming
Of course, you could always go the challenging route, and catch and tame your dragon in the wild. Many would-be riders make the attempt, but few come back in one piece. Some even say it is the dragon who chooses you.
3. Telepathic Bond
Dragons and their riders might communicate with one another via a telepathic bond, sharing each other's thoughts, memories, and emotions. Sometimes, the riders of two closely bonded dragons will be able to do the same.
4. Training
It's important to keep you and your companion in tip-top condition, from flight training to battle drills. Of course, this includes making sure your dragon's claws and scales are clean and in good shape.
5. Battle Flight
This is it, the moment you've been training for. You're fighting monsters, hungry parasites that fall from the sky, or perhaps even other dragons. Will the bond between rider and dragon be strong enough to endure?
6. Injury
You or your dragon companion are injured. How can you stay calm when it feels as if a part of you is suffering?
7. Mating Season
Hey, dragons are wild animals. It happens. Of course, bonded are you are, sometimes dragon friskiness bleeds over...
8. Wildcard
Anything goes!

Upon learning what she came for, his expression turned thoughtful. "Is that your reason to see me? You might be disappointed. I wouldn't think we be good partners as I never had a human before. At least one that doesn't run away terrified and screaming, and came back later with weapons. It's going to be a pact that lasts a lifetime." He might outlive her even.
"Your village isn't in any trouble, I hope?" There haven't been wars in the area as of late, but they were wars in kingdoms overseas. Dragons are quickly sought after in that type of crisis.

She blinks at his thoughtful look and words before shaking her head. "I never had a dragon before myself so I do not know how to properly take care of one."
There was a sharp pang in her chest as it seems like the others, he was rejecting her. She kinda already knew it in the back of her mind.
"I... Wouldn't have minded it. Forming a pact with you, you wouldn't need to stay with me, just come if I needed you. You would be free once I pass away." It would have been a win-win for him.
".... Not that I know of, I... I am not included with everyone so usually I learn of things as they happen or afterwards."
A small sigh before she gets up to dust herself off, offering the basket of food to him. "Still, since you are hungry. Eat and fill your belly."
She will be fine.

He shake his head, "It's not about how you can take care of me. It's about guarding and protecting a whole village. It's just a lot of work to care for so many."
Then with a proud huff, "Anyway, your family wouldn't like me and agree with this arrangement. I wouldn't mind forming a pact with you, but I just get hungry quiet alot and I need to hunt. Since you're not magical or a sorcerer or a warrior, it just means I have to do all the fighting."

But at the mentioning of taking care of the entire village, she blinks again. "Everyone else has a dragon of their own so it wouldn't be just you."
A small sigh leaves her before a small smile forms in her face. "I dont have one... I am an orphan." But then she pales and gains a brief hopeful look before sighing again. "I can go on extra fishing trips to help. And perhaps hunting will help keep you strong since I can't really fight."
"So.... you wouldn't made a pact with me?"

"I guess I'm one of the few dragons who chose not to have a human. I don't like to be tamed. It almost feels like being a pet. I lived alone in the wild for so long and I like it this way."
At her brazen question, he gives himself a few moments to think about and finally he slowly laughs. "It seems you know what you want." Despite how timid she looks to him. "I tell you what. There's lot of delicious human foods and delicacies that I like. I give you a list. You bring it back and we form a pact tomorrow."
no subject
She listens to his reasoning, softly nodding her head. "I see.... it would make sense as to why you rejected me."
But then... There was hope again and at his promise, she couldnt help but to throw herself at him in order to try and hug him briefly. Before the memory of his naked body comes back and she quickly lets go.
"Of-Of-Of course I can get the list. As long as it's within my power to.... And will work on giving you that completed list as long as our pact will be in effect."

"True, but it's also true that dragons may bring wealth and grant wishes. But for now, if you bring what I asked for, I'll make a pact with you." That's one wish he could grant reasonably enough.
He's not a hugging type, but he hugs her back briefly as a reflex. He smiles softly again. "Tomorrow meet me back here before sundown. As for the list, I just want you to bring me dinner and a dessert of your own making. Something you think I would like."

"..... I do not know what I could possibly wish for or desire beyond having a dragon." Baby steps. All the baby steps. She just smiles as brightly as she can up at him and nods her head. "I shall do my best."
The hug back, however brief felt warm and she couldn't help but to blush a little due to it. "A dinner and dessert? Are you sure you don't want something better than that?" She wasn't a good cook so she kept everything simple. "Back here... Sundown. I can do it." She must, it was for the future of her life in the village.
"I... I pray that you won't regret it." She suddenly felt a little nervous as well as bashful. "I should get going now to start preparing for tomorrow."
