Stuck in the Airport Meme

You were ready.

You'd packed, made sure all your documents were together, and arrived extra early just to get through customs.

It's only once you're through the gates that you learn your flights been delayed. Maybe even indefinitely.

You now have to spend the next however many hours at the airport.

Fucking hell. Damn weather.

Outside the great windows looking out on the tarmac the snow piled up and so did the lobby. The new seats didn't allow one to lie down and sleep so he busied himself checking social media after contacting Miranda and then his agent that he'd be delayed for tomorrow's signing.

Flint was a writer, his genre was originally history, particularly of pirates. When that barely paid the bills, he tried applying it to fiction. Gay pirates were apparently in for the next thing he knew he wasn't deciding between a water bill and dinner, now he was being flown to bookstores and conventions for free.

Miranda texted him back, hoping he'd get a flight soon and he was scrolling through Twitter when he felt eyes on him.

Of all the things Jasper Wakefield hated about returning to duty for the coven he decided it had to be waiting in airports. Thankfully, this time it was only him doing Daywalker business for his Elder. He wasn’t there to chaperone an entourage of bratty vamps. Or, having to endure organising careful arrangements to make sure they were protected and didn’t draw attention from the outside world.

Having a little downtime, even if it was stuck in-between flights, gave him a moment of peace from everything. He moved next to the window where another stood. And, his attention was drawn away from the goings on of the tarmac to the man next to him scrolling through his phone.

Jasper had used the downtime to unplug from the incessant screen time and calls associated with his business phone. He wanted to enjoy the coffee he had in is hand. Still, he was curious if anything was being said on social media about the delays that wasn’t being announced at the terminal.

He didn’t want to get into a punch up for getting up in someone’s personal space by staring. So he asked,

“Any updates about what’s going on?”

Her plan is hunker down at the bar with a stiff drink and maybe put a dent in the book she picked up. A book on ancient civilizations. She needs a little break from space. She spots the woman at the bar and offers a smile.]
