( There was a lot of adjustments to make in the move to California.

Divorce was, perhaps, the biggest as it meant for several weeks throughout the first year flying back to New York City to handle things in person with the lawyers. Moving himself (and his small amount of possessions) had thankfully been easier and falling into routine with Richie had been unsurprisingly even easier than either of them had probably expected. Everything else ended up falling into place without much effort: a new job, new routines and finally a new house with Richie in tow.

That said the biggest adjust is the weather. Even after a year, Eddie still can't get used to the hot, muggy summers of California. It gets to the point where my early July, he has to wake up far before dawn in order to get a run in but it means usually getting home around the time that Richie is rolling out of bed and he can usually pull his boyfriend into the shower with him.

It's how they find themselves this morning, Eddie curled in close to Richie's sleep warm body now made warmer by the shower water. It's hard not to let his hands wander, lingering along Richie's hips and laying open mouthed kisses to the underside of his jaw. )

You know... I think we should just stay home today. Order in breakfast, laze at the pool and watch some of those terrible moves you like so much. What do you think?
