Still, what is an adventure without an adventure of the heart? You are not alone, and you'll find that trying times can forge ironclad emotions. Of course, you'll find that the path of love is no easier here than anywhere else, be the person you admire an arranged fiancé you're not too fond of at first, a forbidden object of desire, a traveling companion, an enemy, a lifelong friend, an ally...or another species from you entirely. Yet, in any case, this is no time for romance, is it? Only moments can be stolen, and you must set aside your feelings for the greater good.

In this time, in this place, will you get your happy ending, or will this story prove to be a much darker fantasy?

((Ooc: I can run setup if you want. Just wanted to check in to see if you had any themes or plots you wanted to do here. Or any you'd rather avoid. I can run with anything and if you've got no preference I can wing it. o7))

[OOC: Off the top of my head, I'm sort of thinking that maybe Tsuna was a commoner thrust into the position of Prince and still kind of boggling at the whole situation? Kind of a royalty/bodyguard sort of deal? Unless you had another plan, I'm open and don't have a lot of preferences.]

[There was a bit of a frenzy after the assassination of the crown prince. He was the only child of an ailing king with limited time left. Not too old to lead for the time being. But certainly too sick to keep it up for many more years. There was now a hunt to find the one responsible. But so far no clues had presented themselves.

Amid the chaos they'd needed to sort out who was next in line to ascend the throne. It turned out to the king's eldest nephew. A young man who apparently didn't even know he was related to the king. As his father had married a commoner and left the royal life behind for her.

There was also a mad scramble to find a bodyguard for their new prince. He was going to have a lot to learn. And in the meantime he was defenseless with an assassin on the loose.

Katsuki was young, about a year older than their new prince, but had proven himself a force to be reckoned with already. He learned things at an alarming pace. And he was ferocious, fearless and most importantly loyal. He would be at Tsuna's side day and night to ensure he remained safe and sound.

He wouldn't stray far... ever. Maybe Tsuna hadn't quite understood just how serious they had been when they told him that. Katsuki was now leaned against the wall just inside the bathroom door while Tsuna prepared for his bath. There was a privacy screen up but... that was all that separated them.]

It's not like I'm watching you. I can't even see you from here.

It's still weird!

[Tsuna has a lot of feelings about this.

Not a lot of good feelings. Mostly annoyance. And a bit of anger.

Not long ago, he'd been a normal kid in a normal village. Sure, he might have had a reputation of being no good at anything and kind of a loser, but it was still better than what he had now. There was no way he was going to be a King. He just couldn't do it. Everyone was going to see what a loser he was and ship him straight back home where he'd be back to being the laughing stock of the village.

Of course it was his idiot father's fault.

You'd think he would have mentioned being royalty at some point during Tsuna's life. And maybe it would have made for a romantic story if it hadn't foisted a whole new life on his son.

The bodyguard was a little much as well. It was just weird, to suddenly have someone beside him, to protect him. It had mostly just been him for a long time. He's still getting used it. And maybe he's a little too intimidated to say no.]

Do assassins and people like that really come after you in the bath?

Of course they do. You're vulnerable here.

[Katsuki isn't yet sure what to make of their new prince. But he takes his role seriously. He will keep Tsuna alive and safe. Whatever it takes.]

The only time you're more vulnerable is when you're sleeping. Let me do my job.

[Tsuna sinks into the water. He still doesn't like this and now he just feels scared that someone's going to come barging in, Bakugou or not.]

Fine. I'll try to be quick then.

[He's not looking to run, but it's still weird to be under constant watch.]

You're going to get sleep to though, right?

Of course I'm going to sleep. I'm no good to you if I die from exhaustion. You'll have multiple guards posted at night. And I'll wake up if there's any commotion. I'll also wake up if you try to sneak out.

[Just saying it in case Tsuna planned to.]

I'm not gonna sneak out. It's not like I have anywhere to go.

[The second part of that statement said in a bit of a mutter. He's been thrust into this and hasn't really had a chance to catch up.]

Why'd you even pick this job anyway? It's not like I'm anyone...

Oh no? Just the prince. No one special at all.

[Sarcasm. Katsuki doesn't talk to him like one in his position might to royalty. No formality. No deferring.]

This is about proving myself. If I do my job flawlessly they'll have to give me a shot as a knight. Noble blood or not.

[Tsuna sighs. He didn't ask for this.]

There's no way I can be a prince. Everyone's gonna see it's just a big misunderstanding.

[But that begs the question.]

Do you need to be a noble to be a knight?
