How about receiving the benefits of experience and knowledge...through someone else, someone older than you and more distinguished? Be good, then, and you'll be rewarded. Mr and Mrs Forger are wonderful, caring people. Emily could tell that from the moment she met them. They're quirky, and unconventional--but she likes that about them--and they both clearly love their daughter, Anya, very much. Emily can't help but adore her s well, and she looks forward to watching the girl on nights when Lor and Loid both have to work.

If she's honest, she looks forward to seeing Mr Forger as well. She knows it's wrong to pine for a married man, but there's just something dashing about him that captures her imagination. She lives for those fleeting moments when they're lone together--after Anya is asleep, even if she knows he will probably never feel the same way.
