[Did Thor put him up to this? Did he lose a bet? Some kind of miscommunication? You be the judge.]

[When Elaine and Stella had confessed to setting her up on a blind date... Holly had hoped that it was just a joke. They knew very well she didn't do much dating, either claiming she didn't have the time or was too picky. Maybe that was why they did in the first place, even going as far as foiling her every attempt at escape when the day came. But the teasing and giggling that followed her out was hardly ill-intentioned, and so she couldn't bring herself to be mad at them.

Something as simple as a coffee date shouldn't be terrifying, but as the door to the coffee shop closes behind her Holly still feels like bolting. Blue eyes scan the room and patrons gathered before landing on a familiar face, and something like a mix of relief and sheepishness washes over her. He's sitting right where Stella said he would be. A hand raises up to smooth her hair a little self-consciously as she steps over, even though her feet want to take her right back out the door.]

I don't suppose that you sitting there is a complete coincidence? That you're not here for a date or anything? [Wait.] Not that -- ...not that you couldn't get a date, but I'm asking about a blind date.

[The thing is, Thor still thinks Loki has some grudge against Midgard, that he thinks of humans as lesser beings somehow. This is not actually the case, but Loki has failed to disabuse him of the notion repeatedly by parroting Odin's words at him. Loki's point is that a lot of the things their father taught them are just plain wrong, but either Thor hasn't caught on, or he has but he's taking the opportunity to harass his younger brother.

It wasn't explicitly an order to 'go date a human'. That would be sort of a dick move, honestly, and Loki wouldn't hesitate to say so. But Thor very strongly suggested that Loki was afraid to interact with humans as anything but a conquering god, and if he wasn't, he should prove it by spending more time with them. A challenge that could not go unmet! Besides, it could be fun.

It helped that Loki already had an idea of a human he could spend time with, who could demonstrably tolerate his personality for a while. Whether it goes in a romantic direction or purely platonic, either way suits him, and maneuvering himself in the way of her sisters setting them up was a game in itself.

The look of relief when she sees him is gratifying.]

Surprise! [His voice is low and quiet, but rich with amusement.]

Yes. I told your sisters we'd spoken about magic, and they took the ball and ran with it from there. Which makes it not an entirely blind date, more like a date with one eye closed, but we can have fun with it either way. Sometimes you simply have to allow your older sibling to think they've won, while you continue to do what you would have done anyway.

[Meeting Loki had been unexpected, but Holly can't help but wonder if meeting again is meant to be somehow. Forming real connections with anyone is few and far between, often having to keep an important part of her hidden because it was safer that way. She couldn't really talk about her magic with anyone outside of her family and closest friend, knowing that if she chose the wrong person it would mean disaster. Loki had not only given her the chance to safely be herself, but a new friend.

The noticeable amusement and the way he smiles is enough to help her relax and bring a smile to her own face, blue eyes practically sparkling as she takes the seat across from him.]

You have no idea how glad I am that it's you. I thought I was going to have to... I don't know, make up some excuse to leave. [A small huff as she waves that off, still a bit sheepish.] They didn't tell me anything about who I was going to meet, so I was kind of letting my imagination run wild. I don't usually do blind dates, which they know. I guess they must've really liked you. So... they must've thought I would, too.

[Maybe she should give them more credit after all. Of course they'd had no way of knowing, and certainly no way to know that she already did enjoy Loki's company.]

I should say that I don't usually do normal dating, either. So I'm either a little rusty or completely clueless. But I like the idea of having fun with this if you don't mind that I could potentially embarrass myself.

[Truth be told, Loki loves a witch, or a sorceress, or a Völva. Sometimes, it feels like his natural habitat is amongst female magic-workers of one kind or another. His power doesn't work quite the same way, but Frigga was raised amongst witches and taught her son everything she could.

Keeping company with this young woman, date or no, almost gives him a touch of nostalgia. He starts to rise to pull the chair out for her, but she beats him to the punch by sitting down, and he doesn't mind, settling in again and scooting his chair a few inches closer to hers.] Well, that's not going to work now; I'm the god of lies and I'll know if you're making excuses. The only chance of me not calling you out on a lie is if you impress me.

[This is mostly just him teasing; he intends for her to have a good enough time that she doesn't have to run for the hills.] Eh, I have good manners and I clean up well?

Dating isn't really a thing for Asgardian royalty. Courtship rituals are different, so I'm a bit out of my depth, as well. We can keep it low...

[ He's merely doing as he has been told, showing up to the Hall of Mirrors at the designated time and wait for right individual to show up. Whoever they are. Whether or not he wants to meet up with them. Gah. This shouldn't be as nerve racking as it is when the worst case scenario is his "blind date" potentially being one of his roommates. That circumstance is only funny, after all.

After standing around for a minute, as off to the side as he can be, Nazuna slowly grows aware of a pesky element. He can't say for sure if it's been present prior to his arrival but there's no denying it may as well have joined him in loitering. Or, rather, he has been hanging around. This is a person who might very well be the new source of Nazuna's woes.

It's that guy! There's no way. Right? Is this someone's weird idea of a joke?

Azul Ashengrotto is, what he thought, an unlikely candidate for this particular scenario. What business does Octavinelle's housewarden have standing around in a place like this? Not that he isn't entitled to having a life and is banished to his dormitory forever after, but why does he have questionable timing?

If Nazuna's noticed then it has to mean the underclassman has already arrived to the conclusion. Azul must know! Such a person is leagues ahead of him in every regard, especially given his status, so there is nothing to suggest Azul is an idiot. Which also implies that he simply can't stroll out of here and feign innocence. Hell, it isn't impossible for the both of them to be waiting for two completely different things. But he won't know until, well...

Puffing out his mildly flushed cheeks, he swallows down the consternation and abandons his post. ]
