Of course, your idea of "secure and comfortable" may or may not be the same as your partner's... will the act of setting up your shared spaces bring you closer together, or will it become the thorn in your side?

[it's been less than a week since their trip in space has begun, and she's yet to grow accustomed to a world with no specific mornings nor nights. it's hard to keep track of time this way, or of the way a spaceship works. here she thought she was pressing a button to open up the 'curtains' (is there a word for it? she's not familiar with space lingo) of a window, only for it to remove gravity from the compartment.

her feet are removed from the ground and she's floating upwards, as is everything else in the room. with a deep breath, she binds magic onto her hands to navigate a world without gravity.]

[It started small.

The house was simply weirdly clean, even by Connor's standards. Changing the sheets every few days was normal anyway for Connor. He does that whenever the laundry load isn't quite big enough. Except these sheets are new and that's kind of weird on account of Connor is also a creature of habit. Then pillows start appearing on the bed and more blankets and also like half of Dave's shirts. It's about the point at which he pulls it all off the bed and starts arranging things in the closet that Connor finally realizes what he's doing.

There's an entire room for him to do this in now. When they moved in together, Dave made sure Connor had a nesting room so that he wouldn't have to (literally) hide himself away in the closet like he'd been doing for most of his life. He was very insistent that Connor could have that. It took almost a year before Connor felt comfortable having Dave around during his heats, though, and this is the first time since they've moved in together that he's having one. He had three months to mentally prepare for it and he's still not ready. Not really.

Most of the time, Connor is weirdly independent for an omega that stays at home. The house rules are mostly his: stop putting your wet towels on the floor, no Daves in the kitchen, we can't only drink apple juice you weirdo, etc. Their house has become his own little world and so logically he shouldn't be having trouble with the idea of putting the nest in the room where it's supposed to be. It's his room to begin with. Locks from the inside and he has the only key so if he doesn't want Dave to come in the Dave can't.

Instead, he sits in the dark closet with his knees pulled up to his chest and calls Dave.]

Can... can you come home, please?

[There's a very small hint of omega whining in the words, which is unusual for him. Offhand, once, he mentioned that it was trained out of him and then did not elaborate on what that meant.]

Eventually they will have to leave and travel, but for now Kaer Morhen is where they are settling, which means Yennefer has to fix up one of the rooms to her liking. She picks one of the larger ones close but not too close to Ciri. She wants to be close enough if she hears the young girl in trouble but she also wants to give her some space.

Normally she would just transform the room with her magic but...she just got her chaos back and had exhausted most of it healing the witchers who survived. So for now she is trying to add some taste to the room by hand. She can't sleep anyways, so she might as well be useful. She wasn't expecting any visitors this late at night. She was in the midst of making her bed up as she heard a familiar grunt at her door.

She especially didn't expect him but....she's not going to let that show. Instead she takes a deep breath before turning around to face him.

"Can I help you?"
