[Kyle Broflovski wasn't having a great day.

He was actually having a shitty day, one in a long line of shitty days as a matter of fact. When he'd started doing intern work at one of New York's community counselling clinics, he'd sort of assumed he'd be dealing with a lot of family issues, or gender and sexuality issues, or veterans, or addicts.

Nope.

Most of the patients suffered from problems related to superheroes.

New York was always getting blown up by supervillains and superheroes throwing down in the middle of the streets. A lot of average people wound up witnessing it, or being caught in the middle, and some of those people now suffered PTSD and couldn't watch action movie trailers without panicking.

The clinic was also near a Krakoan gate, which might explain the high concentration of superheroic PTSD cases, and ALSO meant that sometimes mutants snuck through to get free mental health care. It meant there was often a lot of tension in the waiting room, for certain, and Kyle wasn't exactly developing a great impression of superheroes as a result.

On this particular day, as temperatures were rising enough that he was sweating through his shirt, Kyle was just getting off his shift. He went to his bike to unlock it and found... no bike. Yup. Just a broken lock.

He started swearing immediately, not caring that he looked like a madman. A sweaty madman. And he definitely did not notice the little health bar tattoo the inside of his forearm near his elbow suddenly fill up.]
