Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... Stede Bonnet was usually delighted to make port, regardless of the quality or criminal nature of said port, and today was no exception. Today, in fact, he seemed especially excited, practically beside himself, and that was because they were restocking the ship's stores. All the amenities aboard the Revenge had to be restored to full and he was beside himself with excitement about a number of them--particularly the assorted toiletries.

Yes, it was rather silly to get excited about oils and perfumes and soaps, especially since he had never really gone without while they were at sea, but today was different. The assorted fancy bathing items being delivered today, they weren't for him. He'd ordered them for Ed. He'd rationalized that they were for a lesson, of course. Edward had to know what sorts of fancy accoutrements a gentleman would need to have on hand in their personal lavatory.

It was practically a cornerstone of high society!

While that sentiment was true, even Stede felt that excuse was a slim one.

Mostly he was excited just to give them to Ed. He wanted to watch his friend go through the assorted samples and scents, the array of spa things, and the fancy robes. He was just excited about all the little niceties he could share with his dear friend Ed.

The sum total of all of Stede's order fit into a dense little crate. It was small but so heavy that it required Wee John to carry the thing to his washroom. Once it was on board, Stede was practically vibrating with eager excitement. He'd planned on waiting until they set out again to introduce the whole assortment to Ed, to start the morning after their departure with a really nice new routine.

Unfortunately, some of their food supplies were late and so the Revenge was anchored in the harbor for the night, if not for a few days. The crew made the best of it, took a miniature vacation, and were currently off drinking and carousing to their hearts' collective content. Stede decided to remain on ship, as had Buttons, but Buttons and Karl were perched in the crow's nest and so Stede was left just enjoying the night air. He hadn't expected anyone back but, when Ed showed up in the dingy--oh, that crate of nice little soaps and nonsuch eclipsed all other thought.

It took about a minute for Stede's razor thin restraint to snap and he decided to offer Ed the use of his tub and all his presents right then. He had to be casual about it though. It'd be quite odd to just jump the man with gifts the moment he stepped aboard, right?

"Didn't expect to see you back, not enjoying the night on the town?" he asked as casually as he could. It is not very casual.
