THE DUBCON MEME

WARNING - MEME MAY CONTAIN TRIGGERS



Whether it gets awkward and painful or if it goes perfectly smooth, generally speaking the basic fundamentals of sex are the same: there are two (or more) attracted parties who both decide to act on that attraction. If there's not attraction involved, there's still a mutual consent involved. If it's not mutual, there's a problem in the line somewhere...but what about when there's strong grounds for that mutual consent to be disputed on one or both sides?

Sometimes, things get a little bit (or quite a lot) dubious.


Step One: Post your character with Name/fandom/preferences, and be sure to consider just how closely to what side of dubious consent you're willing to walk (slightly dubious, or very obviously invalid)

Step Two: Others respond, rolling up or choosing a scenario.

Step Three: One or both parties get consent all muddled up.

Step Four: Deal with the fall out afterward, if you choose.


1. Outside coercion - On display, or some perverted laws, or maybe there's a breeding facility of some sort.

2. Aphrodisiacs - Accidental or on purpose, one or both have been doused heavily in some sort of irresistible aphrodisiacs.

3. Biological imperative - Baby-making (or many attempts) must happen NOW. For the sake of children, or just to survive something.

4. Intoxication - Beer goggles and impaired judgement.

5. Illicit substances - Lack of any judgment whatsoever, nor probable recollection.

6. Sleeping - Sleeping may not be 'yes' but it's also not 'no'.

7. Control - Through actual control or some sort of blackmail, the 'yes' probably isn't sincere.

8. Trickery - Deceit and misrepresentation of one party to convince the other.

9. Manipulation - Bedazzle and confuse them somehow into saying yes when they normally wouldn't.

10. Wildcard - Some form of dubious consent circumstances not listed.

Hotsuma was a rival pirate, having ambushed and swept away a couple of bounty hunters that managed to capture the infamous pirate Ryoko. Now Ryoko was in a force-field cell on a bounty hunter ship, heavily cuffed with shackles that inhibited her abilities.

"The question now becomes, what do I get in return for liberating a celebrity like yourself, Ryoko?"

(well, shit. given her reckless behavior it isn't all that surprising that she'd wind up captured a time or two. normally escape is pretty easy but these bounty hunter assholes are getting better and better and inhibiting her powers. to be honest, she'd slept through a lot of the fight---it's so boring in this place! but when she hears a voice different from her captors, ryoko's eyes open and her expression turns even more irritated.)

Look, if you want somethin' from me just say it, mmkay?

(if this guy disposed of her captors, though, there is a very real possibility that she'd be stuck here a lot longer if he up and left.)

And I hear...that the GP have a 'lovely' subspace cell waiting for you in their headquarters. Quite inescapable, as word on the street has it, so you'd best decide quickly, eh?

(ryoko evaluates him with a critical gaze; he's far from unattractive. at least there's that. and she's no prude, she's fucked strangers before. the fact that this man is holding her freedom over her head? that's what incites rebellion in her.)

[Hotsuma wouldn't deny it, there was something about having this wild woman at his mercy. That, and the skin-tight battlesuit she wore. The rumors were true, it really did leave nothing to the imagination up close.]

If if its not, I don't see any real choice for you, Ryoko. It's either be my pet or the Galaxy Police's prize prisoner.

I get you wanna fuck, but I won't belong to anyone. (not again. ryoko huffs, glowering. surely he won't be so stupid to disable the forcefield and her restraints---she would just leave. he is right: she doesn't have much of a choice.)

[He stood, regarding Ryoko with a cool gaze underneath his glasses.]

I'm feeling adventurous today. How about your ship, Ryoko? You can show me around. My own ship has highly advanced navigation, so it can take care of itself.

[As expected, Hotsuma dealt with the force-field, but not the restraints on Ryoko's ankles and wrists inhibiting her powers.]

Lead the way, my dear.

[The restraints at least allowed for some independent movement. No need to bolt the pirate to the floor with the force-field keeping her inside the cell.]

(ryoko does a poor job of subtly rolling her eyes at that---we'll see for damm sure. it's easy enough to get back to ryo-ohki, though it would have been better if she could have just teleported.)

[The shackles wrapped around her ankles and wrists meant it was impossible to take the bodysuit off, but the garment was so skin-tight it hardly mattered.]

If you manage to resist my charms in the end, I'll let you go. But if I manage to please you...and I will...I'll leave you here for the Galaxy Police.

that said, possibly open to mutual dubcon by way of some kind of impairment (two people getting buzzed and fooling around) or a fuck-or-die type scenario. alternatively, also okay with somno in the context of a relationship, ie. if not outright discussed they probably at least mentioned it so while it technically blurs the consent lines both parties are okay with it.
