It was a way to form some sort of alliance. Of course, he would always respectfully do as his father asks and Jingyu knew that his father looked out for his best interest. In this new age when cultivators are able to come out of hiding and start training again, it is wise to create bonds between the old and the new.

Then why does his stomach feel like it's caging so many butterflies? Jingyu stays at his designated spot in front of the officiant on one of large, sprawling lawns of the Crystal Palace's grounds. The woman by his side will remain by his side for all of time.

He repeats his vows, as instructed, to be by her side for all of time, should she wish. Jingyu tries to peek at his new bride through her veil as he slips the silver band around her finger. Surely, she has to be as nervous about him as he is about her. Not wishing to have her feel so alone, he gently squeezes her hand in reassurance.

"Presenting our newly wedded couple," the officiant announces, "Jiang Jingyu and Tomoe Hotaru."
