the train to the afterlife

the train to the afterlife.
congratulations! your character is dead — for whatever reason, whether it be canon, au, what have you. it'll be a bit of a journey to the afterlife, though, so your character might as well talk to the other people. death knows no place: most of them are strangers, even from faraway worlds. but death knows no time either, so who knows, some of them may be familiar people, whether recently deceased or long so. maybe your character know how they died, maybe they don't. perhaps the memory is fuzzy, or perhaps it's crystal clear. maybe it was simply their time or maybe they weren't at all ready to go, but none of it matters. your character knows they're dead and the train is taking them to an afterlife.
oh look — here comes the snack cart.

[Perhaps unsurprisingly, Chipp's status of being a psychopomp (of sorts) means that his job is leading people to the afterlife. Wherever they'll end up going, he can't say he knows - they just get off at their stops and the train takes the staff back to the station to swap out with others.
But the fact that it is such a mystery is enough reason for Chipp to wander the aisles, that big, LED eye on his screen scanning faces for anyone who looks nervous. Scared, even. Someone who looks like they can't believe what just happened.
It'd be nice to comfort someone who clearly needs a shoulder to lean on after something so traumatic.

... Though, that definitely isn't his job on the train. Nor does he even remotely look like it's his job. Is it obvious he's a Grim Reaper? Yes. He's got the tell-tale grey skin, and that's about all most people need to understand he's not like they are.
But a guy built like a brickhouse and towering over the train's seats, tall enough to bonk his head (- er, screen) on cabin thresholds, there's no way he'd be there for the comfort of passengers.
He's security. Just there to grab troublemakers and toss'em in another train car entirely.

Yet he still does a doubletake when he sees Izuku - a kid - sitting alone in his own cabin, clearly having been killed via injury rather than anything natural. That sight on its own is enough to get Chipp to backpedal and hunch down so he can lean in around the cabin's doorframe, craning his neck a little to get a good look at him.
That glowing digital eye blinks once or twice.]

... Didja mean to sit here all on your lonesome, or are folks just avoidin' ya?
