Elaine had been reluctant, at first, to take on a familiar. Having been enthralled by her first mentor and forced to commit human sacrifices to fuel his dark magic, then later being indebted to a faerie queen for a time, she loathed the idea of anyone being bound against their will. But she also knew that if she didn't claim Sugar as her own, someone else eventually would. Familiars did not remain unattached for long.

At least this way, she might be able to give him some protection. Not only could she keep him from falling into the wrong hands, but she could lend him her magic to heal if he ran into trouble. After all, the bond was meant to go both ways, wasn't it?

"You're sure this is what you want?" she asks him, though she likely already knows the answer. The ritual circle is already prepared, all they have to do is consummate their relationship and the bond will be complete. And she knows, deep down, she could not bear to see him with someone else; someone who might hurt him again. "Then let's do this properly."

A few more specific ideas that came to mind:

A. Making wishes come true for a price is Azul's Thing, so a Willing Sacrifice situation would be a natural to fulfill a contract.

B. He's usually a solo practitioner, but is stuck having to cooperate and power up with his biggest rival for an Important ritual that takes two mages of equal power to perform

C. A Summoning where he decides it'd be convenient to just have an incubi/succubi on call for this instead of having to fuss with finding partners all the time, but the one he summons is way harder to control than he thought it'd be, oops! ))

[The candles are lit. The circle is drawn. As far as ritual magic goes, the requirements are laughably simple; it's easy to get everything Azul needs at the school store, and the incantation is short enough.

A breath of unnatural wind blows through the room, making the candles' flames dance and carrying with it the faint sound of fluttering wings. A man appears in the circle as though he'd been there all along, wearing a cassock belted with a purple sash. Were you expecting something skimpy and sexy right off the bat, Azul? Or something unnervingly monstrous? Nah, it's a sacrilegious mockery instead, accompanied by a perhaps too-pleasant smile on a perfectly human-looking face.]

[So in a twist- this guy is NOT a witch, but a fairy tale knight who's famed in-canon for being very pretty and generally seeking fame and glory as a hero. As such I'd like to play around with tropes like 6, 7 or 8- perhaps he's a virtuous hero taken by a coven or witch for their own plans. Perhaps he's hunting witches only to fall victim to them. Or perhaps he's a defender of witches either out of love or a sense of justice, no matter what kings or church might say, or perhaps he's the patron of a witch because being a hero is hard work and you need a good edge sometimes to fight monsters and what not. Whatever the case may be, a hero-knight to interact with a witch, is what I'm looking for here!]
