[ They’re on the roof of some swanky new restaurant for which Balthier was invited to the grand opening. Those sorts of things have a habit of finding him, and he enjoys dragging Stephen to the particularly outlandish and cliche ones given how much the other man hates them. But Stephen’s been busy — more than usual, anyway — and the food here is excellent as is the view and the music and he’d been hoping the other man would relax.

That’s not working, so mid-recount of whatever’s gotten worse today, Balthier leans forward, sliding his hands into Stephen’s closed ones, forcing them apart to interlace their fingers. ]
