Regrets, we have a few.
regrets MEME
Regrets. We all have them. If you say you don’t, you’re lying. Everyone can relate to that feeling that keeps you up at night, remembering the dumb thing you said in fifth grade.
Or something like that.
Anyway, regrets. Isn’t it better to get them off you chest? No? Well, today you’re not going to have much of a choice…

▶ Your character is forced to spill their deepest, darkest regret(s) to anyone who'll listen.

[ii] That I did not kill Annatar when first he darkened my presence was a mistake. The cost of my kingdom and standing would have been a pittance.
[iii] For how long did the Balrog haunt the lands at my doorstep? Might I have aided this world were I given more to roaming? To visiting neighbors fallen silent? Might I have spared my men and others? Were I easier to reach, my borders more open, could I have saved the dwarves able to flee?
[iv] My guidance to dear Celebrimbor was poor, selfish in the way wisdom often is. His death will haunt me ere the ending of the world.

[She thinks on it a moment and amends:]
Not poor, but self-serving? He could have fled, stolen away and lived, perhaps.
The path taken was the best of them for all the world...except him. If not upon me, where should the weight of that tragedy fall?

No, that responsibility is our own to carry. [ A gentle pause, to muse carefully. ] To question our own wisdoms delegated to those in the past. Will only bare ill, of those who we will guide in the future.
A tragedy - indeed, its weight will fall upon you. Yet all the same, a desire to change things out of our hands. Is an innate nature of good will. With this, let yourself be humbled, as you do more than what is asked of you from the world.

How...inconvenient.

Oh, but silly me. There can only be one right way, can't there? Don't worry, your child got involved all on her own, without me asking. Inconveniently, I might add.
[ Child, singular, obviously. One of those kids is his now. ]
