The Superhero Meme

Have you ever wanted to be a Superhero? They are idolized, looked upon as Champions of Truth and Justice. That’s the sort of hero you can be, one that always does what is right, no matter what. Pummeling baddies when they're threatening the weak, foiling the latest of a Villain’s dastardly plans to take over the world or destroy the city. It can be satisfying to end their reign of terror and put them behind bars.

Or maybe you aren’t like the Typical Hero. Maybe you don’t completely embody the traits that one might except. You could met out justice by happily breaking bones. Your type of justice can be dealt from the barrel of a gun. You might not be asked by children to sign an autograph, but you are doing your part!

When you get right down to it, it doesn’t matter what sort of superhero you are, because there is room for all types! So get there and dedicate your life to fighting crime and the forces of evil! Unless you much prefer to ally yourself with those very forces instead..

How To Play

Comment below with your character. Put their Name | Series into the subject line.
Include anything else that you think may be important.
AU your character as much as you like or where you feel it is necessary.
Feel free to have your character be a Villain or Anti-Hero instead of a Superhero.

1. Day Off

You are a superhero, butt today is your day off. Do some shopping, pay some bills, go to a cafe, be normal!

2. Watch Duty

You’ve been saddled with watching your Superhero HQ while everyone else is off punching baddies in the face! Whether you are stuck in a large space station like structure orbiting the Earth or some tall building in the middle of the city, it’s your duty to watch it.

3. Patrol

Being vigilant is part of being a Vigilante! So you have to get out and roam the city, flying or jumping between rooftops while you’re on the lookout for crime! Driving is fine too.

4. Newbie

You ar new to this. Whether you just got your powers or you just decided to become a hero, you’re a total newbie. Try not to make any mistakes.

5. Future Shock

One of you have returned from the future to make sure events don’t go down a certain path. Averting the terrible, impending future is your one and only true goal.

6. Return

People thought you were dead! You’ve been listed as such or MIA but they were wrong. Maybe you did die and you got resurrected or maybe you faked your own death. Whatever the case, time to show yourself to your allies and friends.

7. Supers Gala

Being a superhero isn’t all about wearing spandex and flying around the city. Sometimes you get invited to formal event. Masks are optional and formal wear is much appreciated.

8. Training Simulator

You can fight as hard as you want in the confines of the Training Simulator. Whether you are fighting against Zombies riding Dinosaurs or Ninja’s riding giant Bees, whatever you can imagine can take place here.

9. Corrupted

Someone or something has done something to you. You are no longer yourself and your friends and allies know it.

10. Temptation

Someone is offering you something that you are finding it hard to say no to, even if that means switching sides for it.

11. Stakeout

Sitting in one location to watch or wait for something to happen can be extremely tedious. It’s a good thing you have a partner to share the burden with. Make jokes, talk about old times, whatever you can do to get through this.

12. Slow Week

Have criminals just taken the week off? Baddies away at some type of organized crime convention? Whatever the case, there isn’t really much for you to do. Finding a way to occupy your time is a must.

13. Patched Up

That last fight was pretty rough, the injuries you sustained need to be patched up. Maybe an ally wouldn’t mind lending you a hand.

14. Sidelined

You are hurt. Maybe it happened in your last big battle or maybe it happened during training, but your injuries prevent you from going out and joining your comrades in fighting crime.

15. Fugitive

Wrongfully accused or maybe you did what they think and they don’t know the full story. Whatever the case might be, you are on the run. And some of your closest friends and allies could be the ones trying to bring you in.

16. Try Out

Not everyone can just make it onto a team because they have the urge to do good within them. Sometimes a try out is necessary. Whether that be fighting imaginary opponents or displaying your skills. Impress those watching you or spark up a conversation with another participant.

17. Sidekick

You are just starting out, but instead of going solo you have elected to become someone’s Sidekick. They are your mentor and you would do well to listen and learn from them.

18. Sidekick to Superhero

You used to be a Sidekick, now you are striking it out on your own and becoming a solo hero. Don’t be afraid to change your name and get a new costume.

19. Day Job

Being a superhero doesn’t typically pay the bills. So a day job is usually needed to help make ends meet. Maybe you’ll bump into someone you know at work. Maybe they work there too.

20. Hang Up Your Cape

You can’t fight crime forever, or maybe you can. But for some reason you have to call it quits. It could be that your heart just isn’t in it anymore or maybe things have changed in your civilian life. Don’t feel bad, though, there’s no shame in pursuing a normal life.

21. Team Up

This wasn’t planned, but the both of you have ended up in a situation where you have to work together, whether you are friend or foe, you have to take this on side by side.

22. Old Timer

One of you has been at this a long time compared to the other. It could be helpful to drop a little wisdom on the up and comer. Or maybe just shoot the breeze.

23. Persecuted/Feels Different

One of you feels or is actually persecuted because of what you are or what you can do. It might not make you feel like being any less of a hero, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t bother you.

24. Fundraiser

Sometimes Heroes need to get together and earn money for a great cause. Maybe you are offering to bend metal into whatever shape people desire either with your bare hands or even with your mind. Whatever ability you can bring to the table to help raise money is welcomed.

25. Forced To Work Together

The two of you are at odds for some reason and despite that, you are being made to work together. Settle your differences or try not to let them get in the way.

26. Power Swap

Something crazy happens and the two of you swap abilities. How will you two deal with this situation?

27. Reunion

It has been a long time since you’ve seen each other. Maybe one of you went away into space or was otherwise preoccupied all of these years, but you are meeting up again now.

28. Stealth/Sneaking In

Sometimes, Infiltrating a place is what a hero has to do. Whether it be highly guarded with high tech security or minimally guarded with only one security camera. Just try your best not to be seen.

29. Civil War

Something has stirred up dissension in the superhero community and that has lead to an all out war within the group. Each side is fighting for what they believe in, even if that means fighting against their closest friend and ally.

30. Body Swap

Something has happened and now they are you and you are them! You two need to figure out how to fix this situation.

31. Rescue

One of you have been captured and the other has showed up to stage a rescue.

32. Escaping

Both of you have been captured and you have to plan an escape together.

33. Superhero High

You are attending a local school for superheroes! Maybe you are a teacher or a student, maybe they tell you if you are going to be a Hero or Sidekick and you aren’t happy with what you got. No matter the case, try not to be late to class.

34A - Alien Invasion
- Space Aliens are invading the Earth and they do not come in peace!
34B - Bank Robbery
- The most common of crimes foiled by superheroes. Stop them during their getaway or during the robbery itself.

- Jump into a giant robot to fight another or do battle with one using only your superpowers.
34D - Creatures From The Sea
- A sea monster has made its way into the city and it's up to you to fight it and protect the citizens.
34E - Creatures From Another Dimension
- A gateway has opened up in the middle of the city and creatures from another dimension are pouring in.
34F - Supervillain Attack
- Supervillains have banded together in a group and are attacking the city to finally deal with all the pesky heroes!
34G - Zombie Outbreak
- Oh no! A Zombie outbreak is spreading through the city. What will you do?
34H - Random Brawl
- One of you is in the middle of a brawl in the street, in a bar, alleyway, ect. Do you sit by and watch or lend them a hand?
34I - Shoot Out
- They have guns and they are shooting at you. Do you have guns too? If not, hopefully you have powers that will help you out.

Incineroar is the champion of a superhuman wrestling league, who keeps getting into adventures that make him a wild and violent vigilante. He's just as likely to be fighting heroes as he is crime- he vehemently insists he is not a superhero, but you can only beat up so many villains before it sounds hollow. Despite this, he's friendly to children and weaklings.

[would love to be friends with a super and find out his ID! Grayson himself doesn't have any powers but if you've got an idea to AU him into something, I'm happy to consider. He's a huge comic book nerd, so he'd be FLOORED.]

[After a blood transfusion from her infamous cousin Bruce Banner (a.k.a. the Incredible Hulk) saved her life, lawyer Jennifer Walters underwent a similar transformation, becoming the sometimes Savage but usually Sensational She-Hulk!

Whereas Banner's transformation unleashed his repressed rage, Jen's transformation brought out her confidence, so she's much easier to get along with than her cousin while transformed. (also, she occasionally breaks the fourth wall, though she doesn't do it as often as she has since most people think she's crazy)

I don't have icons for her for when she's not transformed, though I can look for some if needed. (if she had the choice, she'd probably be transformed all the time anyway)]

[Doctor Victor von Doom was born in the small European nation of Latveria, where his mother died after a deal with the devil went wrong and his father froze to death fleeing from the baron's forces after his medicine couldn't cure the baroness. Victor was offered a scholarship to an American university, where he met Reed Richards. As Doom tells it, Reed was so jealous of Doom's superior intellect that he sabotaged Doom's experiment, causing it to blow up in Doom's face. (Reed had nothing to do with the explosion, but don't tell Doom that)

Expelled, he travelled the world, mastering both science and mysticism to become Doctor Doom, ruler of Latveria and would-be conqueror.

If you need the sort of villain who seeks to take over the world, the type who would shout "Who dares?!" over some mild interruption, he's your guy. Alternatively, he could team up with heroes to take on another threat - he can't conquer the world if someone else destroys it, after all.]

[ He's technically a retired superhero and also a former assassin. So he might fall better as an anti-hero. There's info on him in the journal. ]

[Herman Schultz is a gifted engineer who decided that a life of crime would be more profitable. He developed gauntlets that generate shockwaves, along with an insulated suit that rather unfortunately makes it look like he's wearing a quilt.

The Shocker's more of a follower than a leader - he'd rather keep his head down, make money, and let someone else handle the planning. On his own, he's probably the sort of villain that would try to rob a bank only to find out the hard way that Bruce Banner, Peter Parker, or Steve Rogers just so happened to be in the bank at the same time.]

[Hank is one of the founding Avengers, and a pacifist. (at least, he's trying to be one; he's not the most effective at it, and it puts him at odds with the whole "superhero" role that he's found himself in) Gifted in numerous fields of science, such as entomology, particle physics, and the development of artificial intelligence, Hank discovered the Pym Particle, which allows someone or something to change its size in defiance of numerous laws of physics.

Hank is easily distracted by anything related to science, to the point where he started geeking out over one villain's powers mid-battle. As well, he's not great with people at times; he's generally positive and easy to get along with, but tends to put his ideals (solving supervillain conflicts without fighting, rehabilitating criminals) over anything else, which can cause friction with other heroes, and he can be forgetful about things that aren't science-related, like what day of the week it is.]

[An artificial intelligence designed by Hank Pym and based on Pym's brainwaves. Designed to maintain peace and order in the world, things quickly went off the rails after Ultron's AI was altered to allow him to solve problems with violence. Ultron quickly determined that living beings would inevitably cause conflict, so in order for there to be peace, all biological life on Earth must be destroyed.

The Avengers stopped him, but as an artificial intelligence in the age of the internet, he can't seem to stay dead. Making matters worse, he created a body of nigh-invulnerable adamantium for himself. Needless to say, he could serve as a villain for a potentially world-ending scenario.]

[He is Iron Man, one of the founding members of the Avengers and kicker of Thanos' giant purple butt. He has a suit for every occasion some metal others silk. He enjoys being a hero but isn't afraid to step back and let others take the lead when it's needs.

Mentor, hero, friend and father, Tony Stark wears many hats.]

[ Glitch is basically a superpowered human with electrokinesis and power over metal. He could basically be a hero in training, hero or anti hero. Though I'm up for anything. ]

[ He's not sure how long he's lived in this place. He remembers being here since he was very young, he's not even sure he even remembers his parents or if they were even alive. If he was ever given a name he doesn't remember it, the only name he does know is Glitch and he was the one who picked it for himself. The only thing that was his.

When he was younger he didn't really know what this place was about except that he was expected to help clean the ring and the seats after every match. When he got older he realized it was a fighting ring where the people that kept him here brought in other kids to either help clean or participate in the fighting ring.

But, once he turned 13 well things changed. With his quirk strong enough and himself old enough to be able to put up some kind of fight, he was expected to go fight other kids. Otherwise, worse punishments would be doled out. He hated it. It made him sick to be forced to do this. He saw no way out though, he was stuck. Maybe if he were lucky he'd be so badly injured they'd throw him outside and he could drag himself to find help. Though that was being optimistic.

No. Maybe this was his life. To be a tool in some sick crowd of people, villains, entertainment.

He was already getting prepped to be sent into the ring to fight someone. A new person? An old one? He's not sure. His deadpan expression didn't carry much life in it when he was sent into the ring. It was just better to turn everything off and go numb. ]

[ What Glitch meets in the ring isn't a fighter he's seen before; a teen his age with bright blonde hair, wearing a lightning-bolt style outfit complete with strange blue glasses. He looks a little nervous as he's pushed into the ring by one of the patrons, and then gives a somewhat unreadable, if nervous look to his opponent.

This plan was weird, but with Aizawa in the crowd and three others of his friends in the back wings, all Denki has to do is follow the plan - make as much of a diversion as possible. As soon as they heard the next fighter had an electric quirk, he was the only choice. ]

Hey, man.

[ He gives Glitch some awkward finger guns. ]

[ Glitch can't help but stare a little bit at the entrance this boy makes. This was not the usual way he was greeted by another challenger. Usually, it's the same dead expression he had, the same hopeless feeling of do or die.

Was this guy tricked into the ring and he didn't know what he was in for? Or was he just that excited to fight someone? Either way, he supposes it doesn't matter. Glitch tilts his head in the other boy's direction. ]

I'd say give up now but they always want a show.

[ He doesn't even return the fingerguns back, instead, he crouches down into a battle pose and he's already leaping forward towards them. In the air he would aim a crackling blue electrified kick towards Denki's head.]

I get it.

[ He's read the mission details, all the information they have managed to get. It's not great and Denki's ready to end this place and both the people who run it and the people here betting on kids.

As soon as Glitch moves, he seems to become more serious - for all his frivolous ways and cringe introduction, he's trained to be a hero. It isn't the first time someone is trying to kick him in the head, and he dodges with the skill of someone used to Bakugou blasting in his direction - and the electricity is absorbed.

The blonde teen seems to be on the defensive, though, not attacking and instead focusing on blocking and dodging attacks. ]

Ever thought about leaving this place and be a hero instead?

[ He can't help but feel only mildly shocked when he see's how this guy moves, even more so when he just see's the electricity fizzle off and vanish around this guy. In midair he has to spin to regain his footing as he slides to a stop.

Did this guy have an absorption quirk? Energy cancellation? Too many variables to really consider but he would need to get a few more hits off on him to actually see.

He's about to go in for another attack but is stopped only by that question. He's left only mildly shocked because he's never heard anyone ask him that in his life. It's just enough to make him drop his guard and respond;]

What kind of crap is that? There is no leaving here, are you fucking stupid?

Besides, heroes aren't even a thing.

[ Denki's guard is still up, even if he's just having a conversation now rather than fighting. He doesn't know how much these kids get twisted by the villains, and the fact that the guy says there's no such thing as heroes is pretty damn sad. ]

Well, a lot of people say that. [ That he's stupid. ] I'm leaving here, though. You wanna come with?

[ The blonde's fingers starts to spark a bit, a few arcs of electricity bouncing around his body. ]

So how good are you at taking volts? Like a million or so?

[ Hearing how he talks, it only serves to irritate Glitch more. How could anyone think they were getting out of here or they'd even be allowed to? Was this guy asking for a death wish? He'd seen what happened to the other kids that tried to get out and it never ended well for them.

But, now seeing the electricity beginning to build off the other boy's body only served to tell him what his quirk was. ]

Your fucking powers are gonna be useless against me. But, mine...definitely won't be against you!

[ He wants to rage against this other boy, he raises and slices the air with it, and the metal panels that made the floor ripped off, hurtling towards the other boy. They were front facing so they wouldn't slice the other but it would definitely leave some very nasty bruises. ]

[ Okay, this was not expected. He dodges one panel and is then hit by the second, smashing into the cage wall with a groan. Rolling away from another one, he then raises a hand like he's about to cast an arc of lightning towards Glitch - something he can't actually do without his sharpshooting gear.

Instead the gesture creates immediate chaos in the establishment - first the power go out in the building, turning everything off - including the cage keeping their quirks from hurting the patrons.

Another spark from the blonde teen shows a grin on his face in the dark before he slams his hands down and releases his quirk. 1.5 million volts go everywhere, stunning both patrons and owners alike... and then the heroes are charging in for arrests. ]

Whooo! Told you!

[ This guy went down almost a little too easy, but then again, maybe he should've expected something from a guy like this. He would rush him now and bring down a kick right on his head and knock his lights out. At least, he could end this quick and teach this guy how things were.

That was up until he see's where the boy lightning does go. Glitch had thought it seemed like a stupid idea to use it to attack, he was immune after all. It's not until the lights go out and there's absolute pandemonium going on that he realizes what's happening.

Glitch stops just short of Kaminari, the kick having been lost as he just lands, staring agape at him. What...what was happening? He hears the shouts of the patrons, other people yelling. Glitch doesn't have a lot of time to process it but was this some kind of takeover? Still, it stops him momentarily from attacking Kaminari. Instead, he looks at him with wide confused eyes. ]

What.

What the fuck is happening? Who the hell are you?

[ Supervillain. Probably a type of villain who mostly does things out of boredom, and will avoid harming bystanders. A big fan of 'pay evil unto evil' though.
Also rich as fuck and likely to be in the same social circles as, for example, Bruce Wayne.

Likely to team up with a superhero if she deems it to be in her own self-interest. Probably either a vampire or with AU powers like strength, flight and/or speed. ]
