Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... It must rather be a fearful assessment of how methodical and unflinching his killing was.

while he's voicing complaints, little quips, there's no denying that jaskier likes doing this. there's very little he can do in terms of taking care of the witcher. in moments like this, it's his turn. ]

[It isn't too often that Vox Machina have a moment to actually breathe and enjoy something as luxurious as a bath. Vax'ildan is used to having to get by on whatever bodies of water are available, between working for the Clasp, surviving with naught but Vex'ahlia and Trinket by his side, and merely adventuring with the company that had by now become more or less his second family. With the Briarwoods laid to waste and Whitestone back in the hands of the de Rolos, there's time to finally relax for a moment, no longer feeling like they're desperately moving from quest to quest.

With the Winter's Crest Festival just around the corner, everyone is more or less busy with preparations, so Vax takes the opportunity to finally slip away from his friends to sneak away to the bathroom, an incredibly easy feat given how well he can blend into the shadows at any given moment.]

Let's see, bathrooms, bathrooms, bathrooms. Godsdammit I should have paid closer attention when Cassandra was giving us the tour.

[He finds his way to a stretch of hallway that he is fairly certain contains the baths, and swings open one of the doors, breathing a sigh of relief when he see that not only is it indeed a bath, but the water has already been drawn. Glancing around to make sure he didn't miss someone in the hallway that had been planning on utilizing that hot water, he shrugs it off. Might as well not let it go to waste, right?

And so he nudges the door closed with his foot and starts slipping out of his clothes and folds them into a neat pile off to the side. With a deep breath, he climbs over the edge and sinks back into the rather enormous tub of perfectly hot water, letting his eyes fall shut and relax.

Whoever it was who had left the bath running, well at least there happened to be room for two in here. Thank the gods, or whoever designed the bathrooms in Whitestone.]

Ed isn't sure if this is a good thing or not, yet. Not sure if he trusts it. Trusts Stede. But when faced with the Gentleman Pirate, and the crew he marooned (and Lucius, who'd been living in the walls), he hadn't been able to follow through on all his intentions of killing the man.

Eventually, he'd listened to Stede's story, his apologies. And grudgingly (but sincerely) apologized himself, to the crew.

But things with Stede are weird. Awkward. Ed wants him close all the time, and yet doesn't - is afraid to, isn't sure if Stede actually cares or if he'll disappear again -

Either way, he's too tired to keep up the whole Blackbeard thing any longer, he's sobered up, and now he's trying - futilely - to remove the lamp black he'd smeared around his chin and eyes. [Rarely did Aoba make time for vacations. After adventuring with Dark it felt like there was so much to catch up on. But with him back in her life it's hard to deny wanting a little time off. So she books them some time at an onsen ryokan. A traditional style inn with private baths.
