On The Run Meme

Maybe something went wrong, or maybe it's just another normal day in your life, but you've found yourself on the run. Did you commit a crime, or cross the wrong person, or simply end up in the wrong place at the wrong time? Whatever the reason behind your situation is, your goal is the same: don't get caught.
 

How To Play

• Comment with your character, and if you're feeling ambitious put in a bit of a starter. Who are you running from and why?

• Respond to others, either as their partner on the run or part of the force chasing them.

• Have epic adventures, fall in love, utterly fail and get caught. See how it goes!
• RNG for some extra unpredictable fun.

Scenarios
1. Running from the cops. You broke the law, whether it was shoplifting or murder, and now you've got a warrant out for your arrest.
2. Attracted the wrong attention. You made someone angry, or obsessed, or otherwise drawn their ire and now they're after you.
3. Somewhere or somewhen. You've ended up in a place and/or time in which you're not welcome.
4. Wildcard!

Relationships
1. Friends (or more.) You've known each other for awhile and are on good terms, so hopefully you can rely on each other in this situation.
2. Circumstantial allies. Strangers, enemies, or otherwise you've ended up in this mess together, and it might benefit you both to cooperate.
3. Opposite sides. One of you is the runner, and the other is pursuing. Which will prevail?
4. Wildcard!

Complications
1. Late to the party. How many people did you piss off? In addition to whoever was already after you, someone else now is as well. Maybe they'll take each other out?
2. Confrontation. They've found you, and it's come down to a fight.
3. Disguise. You can't evade them, but you can hope they won't recognize you. Better be a good actor!
4. Wildcard!

(he's an outlaw who's been on the run since childhood, having been born to a criminal & abused into the lifestyle, & knowing no other life since. has ran with a gang since he was 14 and for 20 years. worth $5k as of 1899 alone, but considerably more in modern era taking inflation into account. willing to write from his time era on or combine canons to the best of our ability. strong preference for a thread which will entail conflict over something sweet, but happy for whatever tone.

[ for years now, reality has been submerged in mako, swallowing ether and ozone — a victim of synchronicity or maybe even destiny, who could say. though the pieces have been broken, and the breaking had been difficult, afloat in a little glass jar had been a reprieve from the needles and injections, the blood drawn and the cells replaced with something more sinister, the hatred and sorrow of watching the things and people he cares about combust. he could've stayed there forever, alone and at peace, without memory or pain... at least until his lungs expelled the last of that tacky green residue and began to churn with air again, his body slumped heavily on another, the passing scents of sweat and forest, diesel and blood. ]

[ the pieces come back together slowly, and not always in the right order. one foot in front of the other, his atrophied muscles relearning how to walk, fingers remembering how to grip, eyes recalling how to look. seeing takes longer — talking longer still. ]

Z... ack... [ like a newborn, they're the first syllables he musters, a hand swiping through the air to reach for the dark shadow of a figure that swims through his vision. the sounds of gunfire, the clang of metal on metal. the drive to save him has him crawling on hands and knees, hazy vision going dark as the storm rolls in. his hair droops in the rain and he feels the wetness of the earth through his gloves. the smell of blood is stronger this way; he climbs over separated gear and fallen bodies until he finds the right one — the one laying, injured and spent, next to a sword that gleams through the rest of his foggy memories. this man is important — why? who is he? what's his name again? ]

[ there's someone with a gun pointed at him. Cloud doesn't have the time to work through logic and observation; he only knows that he's on his feet, sprinting, leaping on the back of the cadet with the sensation of some feral scream in his chest and throat. a gunshot fires off — Cloud has it aimed at a second soldier crossing the distance between them. he grunts and falls into the pool at his feet. ]

[ by the time the smoke from the end of the barrel has faded, a gloved hand has gripped the jaw of the other cadet — and with newfound strength pumped into him from all of those tests, twists it all the wrong way with an aching crack, neck snapped, the fresh carcass falling to the ground as Cloud gasps and paints through the downpour. ]

[ one last soldier. their gazes hold a tense exchange... and then a hasty retreat. he doesn't have time to think what it could mean to let him go, only falls to his friend's side with panicked urgency. ]

Hey... hey... [ hands hover over the splits in his shirt and the blood caking him, unsure how to help. if he even can help. he may have prevented the finishing blow, but he's still in a dire condition. ]
