bad dreams are ordeals, sometimes seemingly endless. when you wake up, your heart pounds, your head hurts, and you end up drenched in sweat. even if you know none of it was real, it takes a while to orient yourself. it is pretty nice to have someone there to wake you up or to soothe you out of it and remind you that... it's only a dream.••• the usual rules apply. post with your character and preferences and then tag around, have your characters comfort others.

(They didn't always sleep together, but more often than not, it's just easier than trying to sneak back to their respective rooms. Plus...Katsuki kind of enjoyed holding Izuku after. It was nice waking up with him. He didn't let himself get used to it, but whenever it happened, he was grateful for it.

They had hooked up tonight, but only once, and it was one of their slower, gentler nights with more kissing than anything else. They showered together, slipped into bed together, and Katsuki insisted that he didn't feel like going back to his room. He falls asleep like a rock, arm around Izuku's waist, face buried against the back of his neck.

It's sometime around three am when he's roused from sleep by - was Izuku crying?? Shouting? Mumbling? Either way, it gets Bakugou blinking awake, his body automatically tensing and he assumes the worst. He's pushing up onto a hand, his gaze sharpening on the defense.)

Oi. Deku. What's wrong? (He shakes his shoulder none too gently, but like also, what if it was-- something?? They lived strange lives. Who knows.)

[ Despite all of Jouno's complaining, he really did prefer to sleep with Tetcho than without him. Over the years, his partner's heartbeat and even breathing had become the lullaby that sung him to sleep at night. While Jouno wore earplugs to sleep to try and drown out some of the excess sounds around him (barely effective, but better than nothing), Tetcho's heartbeat is as loud as ever with Jouno's ear pressed against his chest as he sleeps with his head resting there.

He has one arm wrapped around Tetcho's waist, body snug up against him. It's peaceful -- at least until it's abruptly not anymore.

The nightmare inevitably stems from their earlier argument (one that Jouno had refused to revisit at all even after they'd been together in person again that evening). It's choppy and disorienting, but every scenario ends the same way. Tetcho dead, either on the operating table or falling apart days after the operation. By the fifth time, Jouno wakes up in a cold sweat, gasping for air and sitting up abruptly as he tries to ground himself.

It's not the first time he's had nightmares lately, though it is the first time they haven't been about his own death. Knowing it had been a dream isn't quite enough, and Jouno's hand slides along Tetcho's stomach until it rests on his chest, feeling the rise and fall with it as he breathes. It's little comfort all things considered, and he finds himself pressing down hard while hissing: ]

Tetcho. Wake up.

[He didn't ask, and Jason didn't tell. It seemed like the unspoken rule they had after he found his friend in an alleyway on the way home. He'd looked worse for wear, like he had gotten into a fight, and was dodgy when Junta had tried to figure out who did it.

He knew Jason had a complicated background-- not the details of it, because he was good at dodging when Junta asked and Junta never pushed too hard. Tonight had been the same. Still, they were friends, even texted each other completely mundane things at times, so Junta wouldn't have been able to abandon him. Less so in a city like this, a city like Gotham.

So he dragged him home, forced Jason to sleep on his admittedly not-too-comfortable bed (too thin, with a second-hand rickety metal frame that was going to have to deal), while he took the couch. He'd gotten taller since highschool, so that was actually not a comfortable place to rest, but he made do.

Or well. Tried to. In the end, he just gave up and tried to get some studying done in the kitchen, hoping the light doesn't wake up Jason who had surprisingly passed out quickly. Hopefully not because he had a concussion, or worse.

On the plus side, the fact that he's yelling himself awake probably meant he didn't have a concussion. Not so plus side, he woke up the old lady living upstairs who yells at them to keep it down.

No way he can keep doing homework (or really, sleep) at this point, so he gives up and goes to the room, poking his head in worriedly. Sorry, poor man's budget means he's missing a door.]

Home: Taken for granted under the best circumstances. When did he establish the Agency as such, or more specifically Locker 347.

Sleepily, knobby knees shimmying beneath his jaw, Ranpo scrapes his boot-heels up the locker wall and rustling wrappers spill from the swinging metal door. The hinge echoes like an alarm and he groans irritably, long legs plopping out as he stretches his arms overhead. Did he miss dinnertime?? The hangers are neatly arranged, towels folded in stacks... oi, it's obviously post-closing. Sighing dramatically, the great detective rakes the wrappers like leaves into the adjacent locker and hops to his feet with an unnatural sway.

Might be leftovers in the office fridge. Mm, he marks his texts universally read because Kunikida will announce such updates first at dawn, plus he's too hungry to read. He's staaarving. Arguably at death's door.

Isn't this workplace abuse...

How is he meant to survive these conditions...

Don't they recognize his sacrifices, solely responsible for the organization's thriving existence... providing his own snacks (???), how ridiculous... at this rate...

Ready to bust through the door, a haunting sound repels his hand, fingers curling around the knob after a beat. There, again, far too distressed to be ill-timing on a particularly ambitious thief's part (unless they, too, are having a meltdown over the sorry conditions). A criminal breaking into a detective's office... that would be admirable, but it's clearly not the case --he recognizes that squeaking.

Turning the handle in an uncharacteristic show of consideration, he squints through the dark and lingers, footsteps intentionally muted. The shaking silhouette blends into the dark corner so well he might have overlooked him were it not for the subtle vocals. And the old chair squeaksqueak'ing under a particularly harsh shudder. Barely louder than the ticking clock.

Letting the door ease, hand stopping it from clicking noisily as he takes in the sorry sight. Cool eyes measure Dazai from a distance. Mindfog clearing with each tick-tock-tick. Then he throws his body into slamming the door behind him, pushing off toward the mini-fridge and light cuts sharp shadows from where he's crouched. Plucking out two cartons of chocolate milk.
