It's all text messages and Facebook entries these days, isn't it? Maybe you're from a time or a world where letters are still being written or maybe you're just saying fuck it to your computer and your phone and to the fast paced contact methods of modern day society. Write a letter to someone you rarely see or can't for whatever reason see right now, because of distance or maybe personal issues that are more easily addressed on paper anyway. Come on, you don't need an excuse, just write that damn letter!

How to play -

1. Top-level with your character. Include prefs and the like, if you wish.
2. Others now leave a comment with a letter their character has written yours.
3. Have your character respond, then go tag around as you wish.
4. Be entertained!

Sect Leader Nie informed me you were staying in Qinghe for a short time, to assist with their resentful energy problems, but I am unsure when you intend to depart. I am also unsure which of their resentful energy problems he wishes for you to fix, as they are numerous. Do not tire yourself out needlessly; they do not have to be fixed in a day.

Summer tapers toward autumn here. The Cold Springs remain popular in the afternoons for reasons other than healing. Grandmaster Lan remains indignant that the disciples use it for recreational purposes but it has improved their moods, which improves their ability to stay awake in class and pay attention. Do you plan to travel south for the winter?

Should you require any resources for your night hunts, in Qinghe or elsewhere, you have the patronage of the Chief Cultivator.

Lan Zhan! Of course your letter found me. As if I could ever travel far enough to not be found by my Hanguang-jun. I actually just finished helping with the stuff I was asked to come for, and don't worry, it took two whole days! I'm gonna laze around and eat all of Nie-xiong's food for a couple days before heading out.

Qinghe is pretty nice this time of year, all the leaves are turning but it's still warm. Still, I'd love to see your uncle's face as so many disciples clamor out of the Cold Spring! Have you heard from Sizhui yet? I got a short letter from Wen Ning that said they were doing well, but I know how you get when you don't hear from Sizhui yourself.

I was thinking of going to Lanling next to see Jin Ling, but I think Jiang Cheng might still be there and that's... a lot. You know? I'm not intentionally avoiding him, but I think he might need a bit more time before seeing me again. I'd love to visit Lotus Pier again, but... yeah. South sounds nice.

Aiya, Lan Zhan, I still have a lot of the money you send me off with! Which you didn't need to do, remember, but it has come in handy especially during the rainy season. But people are remarkably generous with food and roofs when you send away a ghost that has been giving them trouble for months!

Sect Leader Nie would not object to you staying longer. He has mentioned wanting to recruit you, should you decide Qinghe is a suitable sect to join. You would need to dress warmly, however. Give my regards to him.

Sizhui ihas been in contact. While he does not write often, he writes when needed. He and Wen Qionglin have made much progress in erecting a shrine for their ancestors, as well as settling the spirits of some resentful ghosts in the area. His progress is remarkable.

You should not let your relationship with Sect Leader Jiang stop you from visiting your nephew. He understands you care for the new sect leader and that should sway him into acceptance. Sect Leader Jin would enjoy seeing you if his last letter to you was any indication.

I was definitely not going to stay in Qinghe long enough to be recruited! There are other places I would much rather be. As it is, I was just packing up when your letter arrived and have since moved on.

You've done such a good job raising Sizhui that I'm not at all shocked he's doing so well on his own. Well, not completely on his own, but without you to guide him so closely. He's going to only grow more remarkable as he gets older and more confident.

I just don't want Jiang Cheng to look at me like he owes me something, you know? Lan Zhan, I don't want anyone to feel like they owe me anything. All of that should've been cleared away when I died. I know it's too much to ask for a clean slate, but that's truly what I want in some regards at least.

So maybe I will meander to Lanling and see what trouble Jin Ling is getting himself into.

What are those places?

There was a solid foundation, with much love in his life. He was a good child, easy to raise, and I had help. He has Wen Qionglin with him now, so no harm will come to him.

Lanling is pleasant this time of year. Though I have heard that Sec Leader Jiang often visits. Perhaps neutral territory can make the meeting easier for you both.

I shall refrain from sending more apples at present. Should you need more, for your donkey, do not hesitate to ask. He has to carry you, after all.
