It'll make the lazy thing happy, I'm sure. [Normally, she'd find such consideration a little bit unnerving, but she doesn't feel that coming from Sam, and it's a good thing.] Well, we can't all be action heroes. If it's the stuff that you really want to do, then it can't be boring. Give me an example.

Alright, but you can't laugh. I mean, I'm opening up my bucket list to a complete stranger. If that isn't baring the soul, I don't know what is. [Despite everything that was going on in his life, it was nice to get these kind of moments. Moments without worry, without hunting or killing or dying. Again.] One of the big ones is to take a week vacation, go to a motel and do.. nothing. Literally nothing. Just lay in bed, sleep off and on, take a shower and then back to bed.

Why would I laugh? Want me to pinky swear that I won't? [For Bree, it's all about having human contact, clicking with someone and enjoying it. She doesn't do this as much as she probably should, and a life sitting in front of her laptop has become very lonely, indeed.] Just ... sleep, showers and food? No worries. Just ... relaxation. I can understand how that sounds really good. One question, though, why a hotel? Why not home? Why not on a tropical beach somewhere?

[He let out a slightly embarrassed chuckle as he scratched the back of his head.] Well, like I said, I travel a lot. So, don't really have a home. Just hotels, always. I'm used to it though, I grew up like that. And a beach? I don't know, being in a motel I'd be away from people who might want to bother me.

So, it's just ... hotel room after hotel room. Of course you'd probably find them most comfortable, sure. Would you like to hear one of mine?

[He nodded.] Shoot.

Okay, well ... I want to wish on a star and actually have it come true. And if that doesn't pan out, I'd really love to backpack around Europe, staying in hostels the entire way through.

[Sam smiled, finding that first one pretty cute.] See, both of those so much better than mine. You at least seem to have imagination, but being a writer I guess that comes with the territory. [Sam definitely read enough books, but none were ever purely just for enjoyment.]

Oh, hey, no. Yours is just as good as mine are - the point of the list is that it's stuff that you want to do. Anything on that list is just as important and meaningful as any of mine. Even swimming with sharks. [She shakes her head, the softest sigh escaping her lips.] Word on the grapevine is that I'm starting to be called a one-hit wonder, so ...

Thanks. [He smiled faintly, which quickly turned into a frown at her sigh and words.] What? Hey, don't listen to people, alright? That won't help you, especially when it's negative. I'm sure if you focus on the positive and stuff, you'll be writing again in no time.

[Suddenly, he heard his phone go off with a text and with a sigh of his own, he pulled it from his jean pocket and looked at the message. Of course, it would be Dean. He shoved his phone away and ran a hand annoyingly through his hair. Here he was, having a good time and again, work got in the way.] Hey uh, think I could get a rain check on the beer? I can give you my number and you can give me a call or text whenever.

[When she looks up again, it's with a small smile.] I'm sure that with the right motivation and inspiration, it'll come. It's just a matter of finding that -

[She pauses, waiting to continue when he's done. Of course it's important, that's kind of her her luck works. But it had been nice, in any case, and she really needed that.] Oh. Sure, yeah. If you'll be around for a while for work, I'll be available. And ... if you won't be, when you come back through, if you do, I'll be happy to provide.

I'm not really sure how long I'll be around. [He never was.] But at least text me? [He chuckled and grabbed a napkin and pulled a pen from his pocket, scribbling down his number and sliding it over to her.] Thanks, Bree. For the company, it was nice.

Comes with being good at so many things, I imagine. I'm sure people all over need your help. [Once he passes it over, she makes it a point to look, not quite memorizing each number, but wanting to see it before she adds it to her phone.] Of course I will - oh, well, I hope you don't mind texts at odd hours, I'm sort of an insomniac. I don't require an answer back right away, but sometimes I just need to say stuff. Oh, geez, you might regret giving me this number. [She smiles, and this time, it is clearly pleased.] Thank you for indulging me.

I'm not really good at all that much, but thanks for assuming the best. [He chuckled again as he stood, shoving his hands back into his pockets along with his pen.] Don't worry, I kind of work late pretty often, so I'll probably be up for those late night texts. But I definitely won't regret it. [A smile along with a nod, he moved away from where they were sitting and headed out, getting into a '67 Impala that had pulled up before taking off.]
