1. Friendly hug - this person is your good pal, and you just wanna give them a fond squeeze to let them know.

2. Romantic hug - you just want to be closer, so wrap your arms around them, maybe rub their back some...

3. Bear hug - maybe you haven't seen them in a while, so how about a giant hug that lifts them off their feet

4. Hug from behind - surprise them, guess who?! or maybe they're having a bad day, cheer them up.

5. Awkward hug - maybe it's on accident, but whatever the case is, you can't help but feel a little nervous about hugging them.

6. Reluctant hug - whoever this person is, you have to hug them, better make it quick!

7. "I'm sorry!" hug - actions speak louder than words, will this person get the message?

8. Give a little extra hug - give them a kiss with it, cheek, shoulder nuzzle, whatever - but let the hug linger a little!

[ You got it, Mami. Though its friends are converging on it and merging to make the final boss ~~at least of this encounter, unless you want someone who hasn't seen meguca in years to keep trying to npc a witch~~. You're almost but not quite out of the woods...

Scanty, for her part, is scrambling back to her feet and - combining her revolvers together into a shotgun, which she holds like a baseball bat in case of future assaults. ]

And force myself into debt with a showgirl? I'll take my chances against the slime...

[ Or so she says, but she's stepping back behind Mami pretty quickly, here. When confused out of her freaking mind, it's nice to fall back on inbred obedience. ]

[-this isn't good. She used up too much magic before they even met to waste a bombardment on the familiars. Not with a witch down the road. Not without risks, and she had company to mind.

[That said, she's running off- drawing the ire and trail of the slime by stepping on one of the smaller ones. And if Scanty wants to follow- Well. There's those dratted ribbons again.

[ Hey, don't run off before she's finished with her snappy comeback! That's a dreadful violation of several important rrrrrules.

Scanty does, indeed, attempt to pursue - she has a bone to pick with you, young lady, especially if you keep - ]

[ Yeah, that was Scanty tripping and falling in a ribbon-ball. She struggles, trying to bring her hands up so that she can maybe try and use her guns - at least get one free -

If you return to see how your captive demon is doing, Mami, she'll be absolutely hopping mad. ]

[Sorry, Scanty, there's no direct witness at all. Save for those little familiars that eventually take interest again. But the point of that ball is to keep them at bay, so they keep trying to slither up, only to get bopped back by some power as they try to creep in.

So it might be awhile, but eventually the ball fades away- right along with the familiars, the strange surroundings, and everything else. Instead she's back in that alley again, with Mami just a few feet away, walking a slow streak towards something on the ground.]

[ Scanty struggles to no avail, trying to make sense of the situation but mostly just feeling completely confused. This sort of thing isn't supposed to happen! She's always supposed to come out on top - or at least, have the slightest idea of what's transpiring.

When everything fades she collapses to the ground, still clutching her revolvers in either hand, trying to gather her frazzled nerves. Climbing to her feet, she points both barrels at Mami, but leaves her safeties on. ]

Careful, jelly-busted magician girl! Unless you want the back of your head to resemble a sieve, disarm yourself the moment you're finished.

[-if she still had her musket conjured, that rude, rude demand would have resulted in a stand off. As it was... Well, it's no wonder she went stiff, and was slow about raising from a crouch and turning around.

Because her hands are full, one holding a grief seed, and the other her dimming soul gem. She clutches her fingers around it and tilts it from view, focusing on Scanty's guns.]

-it looks like I was a step ahead of you. Any other demands?

[ -- wow, that was fast. She didn't even see you put them back on...well, assuming yours even function the way hers do. She's seen stranger behavior from you today.

Placated but not satisfied, Scanty puts up her weapons. Completely disarming herself would, of course, be most unwise, but if you've had the decency to comply she at least can become slightly less threatening. ]

[ She offers the hint of a smile at that. How delicious it'd be to crush you beneath the long, overly-complicated arm of the law. It, unlike you, makes perfect sense! ]

[She didn't exactly smile back, but there was some good will there in her bearing. She couldn't exactly relax- Not when she still needed to use up that seed.

And yet, just leaving... She was bound to protect this area, and even if that was namely from witches, she felt obligated to get to the bottom of, whoever this lady was. Not a witch, or magical girl, but to fall into a barrier and affect it that way...]

This is supposed to be a public area, though. Are you involved with the government, or a local business?

[ Scanty flicks a business card at you like it's a Frisbee. She does indeed, apparently, work for the mayor. ]

You must be poorer than I thought! A miserable pauper can hardly understand, but anything's for sale if the price is right.

Connections alone speak far less than a wad of ready cash. Well, I suppose it helps when you're swimming in both...

[ Don't mind her. Her ego's bruised. It needs this trip. ]

[Maintaining the "unflapped" demeanor, she still jolts her arm up in time to catch the card, bringing it down to read it where Scanty remained in her field of vision the whole time.]
