The party was a roaring success that now purred quietly, soon to stop completely. But for now, the dance floor went from being filled with energetic dancers to the every other couple swaying nice and slowly to the slow, romantic music. Those happily spent practically melted onto the chairs scattered across the ball, some chatted away the remainder of the evening, others walked away in tow with their love or by themselves, attires slightly disheveled.

However, there was someone who had only been wanting to get rid of her 'date' the entire evening. Gabrielle. The entire bulk of the evening was spent trying to get ways for her over-enthusiastic date, a chum who she frankly accepted out of the goodness in her heart, to leave early. Well, it went over as well as you'd imagine, given that she was now enthusiastically waving at him as he walked away to his carriage at the very end of the party. 'Thank the gods!' Gabrielle thought, rubbing her eyes, feeling her headache fade away as her date disappeared into the night.

Now, there she was, plopped on the chair more mentally exhausted than physically, watching the other couples sway away to the slow music. She wondered if she should at least -- at the very, very least! -- try and find someone to dance with, even if it's for a moment, before the night was over.
