[ It's not the kind of place people who got hurt doing something legal turn up - whether that something is an action or simply... existing. If he had to guess, based on the limited moments he's heard her speak to the nurses, the girl in the bed on the other side of the clear plastic curtain is here because an admission at a clean, accredited hospital would involve checking ID to notify next of kin, and, subsequently, determining that she's from the North.

It seems pretty severe, whatever they've operated on her for, which has translated to a lot of background noise at odd hours. This place doesn't offer the same level of supervision as a real hospital; nobody's really doing rounds per se, and it's not that well organized - but they check in occasionally, rearrange tubes that have slipped, check bandaging, administer pain medication.

He, of course, declined it. He's strong-willed enough to fight through this, and he can't afford to allow himself to be in a position that vulnerable—people talk when they're on painkillers. So he simply...lies here, eyes closed, nothing to read, breathing as deeply as he can without disturbing the now-infected gunshot wound just above his clavicle.

This stretches on for a good two hours. Finally, the girl in the recovery "room" next door stirs - and this time, for the first time, she sits upright. Cheol-gang speaks. ]
