Questions.

YOU MAY KNOW EACH OTHER ALREADY - OR YOU MAY NOT. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, YOU'RE NOW PASSING THE TIME ASKING EACH OTHER QUESTIONS. IT'S A GAME! A QUESTION FOR A QUESTION. YOU START OFF ASKING YOUR OPPONENT A QUESTION OF CHOICE AND IF THEY ANSWER IT, THEY'RE ALLOWED TO ASK YOU A QUESTION IN TURN. THE RULES ARE SIMPLE, ONLY AS LONG AS YOU ANSWER THE OTHER PERSON'S QUESTIONS ARE YOU ALLOWED TO ASK QUESTIONS YOURSELF, BUT THERE IS NO EXPECTATION OF TRUTHFULNESS HERE, LIE IF YOU MUST OR WANT, JUST KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING.
How to play -
1. Comment with your character's name, fandom and preference.
2. If you want, leave a question in the comment field that your character is asking their opponent. Or don't. I'm not the cops.
3. Pick other characters to question and have fun!

Do exterminators work on teams to pal up with? I guess I always thought you guys did that kind of stuff alone.
no subject
Your "team" is just whoever you work for, really. For bigger jobs they do send a bunch of us in. But generally it's just me by my lonesome, which is how I like it.
Ever feel like you need a break from all those people around the hospital, day-to-day? Must be chaotic, to say the least.
no subject
It’s weird, but I like the pace of everything at the hospital. Most of the odd jobs I did when we first moved out were so boring. I was always getting written up for something related to focus, attention-span, not being able to just stand still like a normal person… But there’s so much coming at you from all directions, especially at night, that it’s never boring! I love it!
How’d you get started with exterminating? When did you figure out that it was a good fit?
no subject
You know, some of the shit I like about my job... it ain't that different from what you just said. Of course I don't gotta deal with people directly as much. But the work keeps me moving, keeps me busy in a new way, most days. I'm too goddamn fidgety to just sit behind a desk, focus on a screen.
Was into architecture, when I was younger. Still am. But I was always poking around buildings, really looking into their guts, y'know? Gave me plenty of chances to see all the creepy crawlies that can set up camp.
Then when I dropped out of college, took a couple odd jobs with a local pest control place. And here I am, exterminator extraordinaire.
Know you dig snakes, but how you feel 'bout spiders?
no subject
I’d probably never have a tarantula as a pet or anything. But I don’t really mind them. Something’s crawling on me and I don’t know what it is, it’s probably gonna get squished. But find a spider in the apartment, and I’m usually pretty good about catching it and putting it outside. Are spiders your favorite bugs?
no subject
Yeah, I do dig spiders. They're also the other big category, 'sides rats and snakes, tends to give folks the major heebie jeebies. I've done some jobs trying to recapture escaped tarantulas. They're real neat to watch.
Guess I wouldn't be opposed to having one myself. But I'd never trust my Little Killer not to tangle with it.
You ever had Kazumi around other pets before? She show any interest in 'em?
no subject
I swear, people get creeped out by the weirdest things. Anything give you the heebie jeebies?
no subject
I ain't too easy to rattle. Probably less cool than Kazumi with other people all up in my living space, though. Wouldn't wanna go back to havin' roommates. Ever.
Feel like we kinda come full circle. But you got any serious fears? Not rats or snakes, obviously.
no subject
My biggest fear… would probably be something awful happening to Isamu. If he just… died unexpectedly or something, you know?
Okay, that got a lot more serious than snakes and spiders. Sorry.
no subject
Hey, sometimes shit gets serious. All good. Can see how it's a legitimate fear.
Is Isamu way different from you, personality-wise?
no subject
You have any brothers or sisters?
no subject
Nah, I was an only child. Kinda unusual for a Ukrainian family. Guess my parents really broke the mold.
You get along with yours? Parents, I mean.
no subject
Papa’s a biomedical engineer and before we were born, Mama was a clinical engineer, so doing well in school - especially science - was just a given. Isamu had that covered, and then some. But I’ll give them credit, they got two for the price of one. And they did try to make sure both of us felt loved and supported. They’re proud of how we both turned out, so far, as people.
What are your parents like?
no subject
Ma's from a farming village. Real country and city mouse love story, I guess. But she ain't no rube. Wicked wit, and she can spin a yarn that'd leave ol' Pushkin sweatin' over his knitting needles.
Pops was a structural engineer, 'fore we moved over here. A stubborn old SOB back then, and a stubborn old SOB now.
no subject
Thankfully, not yet. But at least when they start, it’ll be Isamu that’ll get the brunt of it. Not me. It’s no family secret that I’m about ace as they come. No thank you. They’re not getting any grandkids from me.
no subject
Ha. Announced the same to my parents, 'bout the grandkids anyways.
So would you rather not be in a relationship, period? If ya don't mind me askin'.
no subject
no subject
For a good amount of 'em, yeah. Sex and marriage and babies is the big story, and some people do seem happy enough, telling it.
Then there's those of us that just full-stop at sex. But why should a relationship without sex be any weirder?
Guess what I'm wonderin' is, do you want any of the rest? Hanging out with someone, shackin' up if you want. Finding somebody to grow old with, all that jazz.
no subject
Do you? Or, did you?
no subject
I think about it sometimes, yeah. But I keep choosing to be alone. 'Cause it is a choice, right? One you gotta make over and over again, if you feel the life you've made is worth keeping just as it is. And I do feel that way. Way more than I'm ever lonely.
[ Which is not never, but shh. ]
Maybe some of us are just meant to be the sorts that leave everything to their pets. You got any prized possessions for Kazumi to inherit?
no subject
What about you?
