ANGST.

It's certainly a new experience.

[ Lucifer has never had to actively pursue anyone. He's never been turned down for sex. People have always just been attracted to him - they throw themselves at him. He is, after all, desire personified. So, yes, the Detective is a very unusual case indeed. She's (apparently) totally unaffected by the swirl and eddy of desire and attraction that always surrounds him. She's immune. ]

And I do enjoy new experiences. It's a fascinating challenge, really. And a mystery. So far as I can tell, she's human - apart from the fact that I can't draw out her desires.

[ sae-byeok doesn't look at him, she's too angry at herself to do that. after being careful for so long she gets caught now?! everything had changed after her father had been killed, all the responsibility had fallen on her shoulders. her mother was in no state to do any of this herself, it was if the woman had completely shut down when her husband had died. she had become a shell of her former self but then maybe she had been like that all along. life here had never been easy and while sae-byeok would never complain about it, it was hard not to dream and hope for something else.

at the same time it was also hard of sae-byeok to dream and hope at all. life in the tiny village had never really given room for that. but she pressed on because what else could she do? even before her father's death she had been a provider for her family. she had learned how to steal and pickpockets at a young age. the little pay she got for working had never been enough so she had taken it upon herself to find that little extra and sometimes it made all the difference. she never told her family where the money came from and after the first few times they stopped asking.

she stares straight ahead while cheol-gang speaks. no trace of emotion on her face, she isn't going to give him the satisfaction of seeing that she's afraid or angry or a mix of the two.

she hadn't been trying to escape, at least not tonight. she had been trying to learn schedules. trying to get a better understanding of how things worked at night so that she could eventually escape. she'd take her brother first. he was so young, the sooner he was over the border the better. the plan had always been for sae-byeok and her brother to cross first - then after enough time their parents would follow. but it was more complicated now, which was why she had been out scoping things out.

He got half pepperoni for himself, and so he chews on one of those slices while they tap their bottles together. Time for a good old-fashioned movie watching! And tearing it apart. It really was almost just like old times.

It doesn't have to, but it usually does. The restaurants by the pier have to pay more for their location, but their location means the seafood is fresh. Better chefs get paid higher salaries.

But that doesn't mean you need to make six figures to eat well. Most of my food comes from a stand or a bar. Your conversions might be off, though. Or, I wouldn't trust the pizza. There's cheap, and there's made from the garbage cans of other places cheap. You can definitely find it for less than 30 dollars.

...hm...well, without any sticks to take advantage of, Jack rolls his sleeve up and proceeds to hold the kettle over the small flames.

[ His ears flick the odd water droplet around, but no water would have ever managed to get past Theo's hand and into them even were they still. And he's given up on the tail fight. It's in the water now, warm and comfortable and relaxed with the rest of him. ]

[ He's more amused by the antics of the little alchemist now that there is no immediate threat. At least not one that they can tend to. ]

[ It's just a couple of moments of silence that follow. Both in contemplation at that fact and ensuring that everything is out of Raha's hair and the fur of his ears. Being cautious and careful. Which means there's plenty of scratching and fingers dancing across the surface area to be had.

He's silent because it is something odd that strikes him every now and then. So very surreal. Ever since he had come across the Scions, the people in his life - consistently - have grown. More and more every year. Male Viera are solidary by nature, coming together when necessary and then having certain needs fulfilled every so often.

Perhaps this is also what his mentor had meant. Theo - Thivir - is not meant for that lifestyle. That he should be surrounded by people that love and care for him. That he loves and cares for right back. He definitely feels more full and complete than he ever had.

[ Theo takes so many opportunities to remind him how much the people around him care about him. It's only fair that he return the favour, isn't it? By reminding him of the untold numbers of people whose lives he's touched, each of whom would be ready to return the favour by helping now.

That was Pete, he studied things with that brain of his that never seemed to know when or maybe how to turn off. He could always make her smile or laugh easier than anyone else, and he could also be more damned frustrating than anyone else because he knew all her buttons, good and bad.

"Bite it?" She groaned and rolled her eyes. Did he really go there with a zombie film?

"If I was in it, I would totally be a final girl." She turned that megawatt smile on him, girl next door meets covergirl. That look had earned her a career.

If people are dumb enough to set up camp in the middle of a pack of things that want to eat them, then maybe there's a reason they need to be taken out of the gene pool.

[She didn't have that heartwarming love for all humans or some kind of death wish to protect her species. Stupid couldn't be helped. She fit in that camp herself sometimes. Here she was on a rooftop with a blind vampire lawyer sent by her vampire sister in a city full of vampires that would very much like to drain her dry.

She looked out over the horizon, wondering if she could see the sky starting to lighten or if it was just wishful thinking.]

[Hades knows just as well himself that no matter how much he complained or protested, he willingly welcomed the trouble and antics each and every time. Ever a stickler for the rules or concerned about their reputations, it is only now that he begins to see those things really didn't matter. Of course there were times he was frustrated, at the antics they caused. Hythlodaeus was too much like Azem, wanting to stick his nose into other peoples business, to drag him out and about the city, to rope him into an endless amount of schemes that didn't need to involve him, to be so carefree about the outcomes to these wild plans.

It caused him no end of grievances but it is what made Hythlodaeus him, and truly what he loved about him the most. A free spirit who bore strength to his weaknesses- who could see the good in any situation to complicate his bad, the optimism to his pessimism, who would willingly help shoulder Hades' burdens when the man himself was so insistent on not being responsible for anyone else's. Completely opposite, completely complimenting.

And this is who Hades wishes to remember the most, the bright soul who relished in the joys of life. Who was perfectly content to miss an hour's work in favor of basking in his lover's warmth for a little while longer, fond memories that are so intimately theirs and no-one elses, which allow Hades to forget about the firey, ashen world outside, at least for now.

To forget about the time, and how many hours are left. Or where they will go tomorrow, or the correct words he should speak in order to say goodbye, or what the consequences of such an act will be. To discard it and appreciate the joy found in his lover's warmth, the way the rushing water allows hands to easily glide over the other's back, through lavender hair, each touch so familiar yet exhilarating. The familiar taste to be found when his tongue meets parted lips and to completely drown in it, as if it is the only thing which matters.

He had asked for only a moment yet he does not wish for it to end, so until they decide to move, or the water runs cool, Hades' desire is to instead seek out every touch and taste, each one to be a lasting memory that will belong only to them, to remember and cherish until they can meet once more.]
