[Dante had never exactly been concerned or afraid of using his words with her. It was not as if he pulled the same tactics she did. When Beatrix was quiet, it was worrisome, given that her expression rarely offered tells. When Dante was quiet... it was almost terrifying. Almost. She couldn't just reach into him and pull out information and she knew that as confident as she was about the type of man Dante carried himself to be, she didn't know nearly enough.

But two could play the same game, couldn't they. A hand settled right atop her hip, she met his stare with something of steel. Perhaps all along, he'd simply been testing her. Or perhaps she'd finally, once again, done something that forced him to put his foot down. Eidolons knew she'd certainly put him through the wringer a few times in the past. Not even Dante could possibly be immune to that. After all, everyone had a breaking point.

So she could play the silent game. For a few rounds at least. Until she finally tried to demand answers out of him. Because she never could ask nicely.]
