[Jason stops in his tracks when he opens his door later that night and sees a box with his name on it right there on the floor. he glances left and right, then grabs it and takes it back inside, flopping down on his bed.
he doesn't get a lot of gifts, but even so, this one feels extra special. he knows who its from.
when he opens it, his eyes go slightly wide and he smiles, running his fingers over the length of it, then tracing the R. and then of course he has to try it out, taking it out of the box and getting a good feel for it in his hand before he lets it expand and spins it the way he's watched Dick do it a thousand times before. he goes at it a little while longer before he contracts the staff once again and goes to grab his phone and calls Dick.]
