The real reason is that she almost became a literal vampire, so she deserves a vacation - oh and also it's a perk, part of the whole "absolutely no one outside of maybe ten people in the CIA and your fellow survivors can hear about this" thing.

She figures it can't hurt to try and do something mundane like walk through a fair for charity. It's just... after what she and the others went through in the temple, nothing feels real anymore. Or rather, nothing makes much of an impression. Her senses feel dull, and her grip on the world feels distant. Rachel has to ground herself in every footstep to keep from drifting off and remembering any of it.

It mostly works, until she finds that she has wandered over to this— give her a second to read the sign— kissing booth, and done so in such a way that it looks like she's here for a kiss. ]
