And college Lydia is a party girl and about the same age as Kate. And a sleepwalker. (And she's been through hell and able to defend herself, which the background check didn't discover)

PRE-GAME AU mild spoilers warning?

[ It’s bad luck that has Rinwell in the northern part of town, running errands both for the locals at the market, and for the Silver Swords.

She’d only been taken under their wing a few months prior; Meneck would take a long time to win over, but Bregon was willing to give her a chance, and starting with small tasks, she could prove herself to the group that way. Exiting the Inn, tasks completed (a physical food delivery, along with both written and verbal notes), she’s crossing the fountain plaza, head down and staying out of trouble, when she catches someone’s eye.

That’s the unspoken trouble with early teen years - when being a cute kid transitions into a pretty girl, which means unwanted attention. Doubly so when it’s from a Snake Eyes, a far older teen taking it upon himself to casually step after her. She can’t lead him back to the hideout, can’t go back to the Market, and her knowledge of Cysloden isn’t the best (yet).

So it is that panic leads her down a dead end alley, albeit one well out of the way from the main street. She’s not good at acting, but the surprise at not being where she thought she was going is real enough, and brown eyes widen as she turns to find the Snake Eyes behind her, one hand closing around the spine of her book as he leans into her space.

Agent Sterling was trying to track a underground group in the government who, they suspected, were sharing secrets of newly developed technology with enemies. That meant one more military dinner with more brass than Robert liked seeing. It was always about who you could become chummy with and brown nose. The Brit preferred privacy and quiet, more introverted and not so power hungry as the others in this place.

Mercifully, he was able to slip away to the bar and get a glass of wine before heading unseen out onto the balcony. The wind was colder than he'd like and bit through the trousers of his tuxedo but worth a moment to breath in the quiet. The view was nice too and he stood there sipping his wine and milling over the people he had spoken to so far. Filing and sorting them mentally as targets, suspicious, not worth looking into. He needed a top few to further investigate when he left this god-awful black tie party.
