[It begins like this: the Madame tells them, casually over breakfast one day, that she's got someone to introduce them to. She offers no other information, just tells them to gather around at noon. Lupe asks if it's a big-name client, but the Madame just goes, Not quite... and trails off all mysteriously.

Haru has no clue what to make of the news. She can't fathom who else they'd need to be introduced to if not a big, important client. Has there been a change in management? She and the other girls mutter about it over their toast, hoping it's nothing serious.

So she runs a couple of errands and tries to be back by noon, as instructed. She's a little late, though—she had the misfortune of running into Chiba and his new girlfriend and getting drawn into them squabbling about something, what a pain—so when she gets there, everyone is already sitting around at the tables, looking at the Madame, who's standing next to an unfamiliar figure. A male figure. Tall, blond, and clean-shaven.

It's got to be a client. That's what she assumes as she slips through the front door—that this guy must be the son of somebody important, and that he's come here for the same thing all men come for: greasy food, and prostitutes.

But that is not what happens. Madame instead gives them the low-down: starting today, this guy will be working with them. No, not as a chef or some kind of bouncer, but as a fellow sex worker.

Haru can't believe her ears. Seriously, her mind is boggled. A male prostitute? In this world?

It goes against everything she thought she knew. The social order in this world has always been super clear: men are at the top and women are at the bottom. So to hear that a guy could be a sex worker is seriously, seriously shocking. Is he just broke? Doesn't he have other options? What the hell happened?

Still... she kind of gets it. During her time as a sex worker, she's seen lots of different kinks. Some guys like sexy mature women, and some like younger ones. Some guys are hardcore sadists who like rough sex (way too many, in her opinion) while others (like Sumo) are softies. There was that one guy who really liked her catgirl shtick. And then there was that Bard who wanted her to strum the guitar naked. And then there was that teacher guy... aaanyway. The point is, different strokes for different folks. Surely, there must be some men, even in this world, who'd prefer to do it with another man.

The Madame explains how the whole arrangement is going to be carried out. Apparently, he's not going to be working out in the open—so no chatting up customers, or serving beer in sexy clothes. (Which is almost too bad, since she kinda wanted to see that.) It's more like he's going to be a secret prostitute. When a customer wants to sleep with him, they'll go upstairs with a girl for appearance's sake, but then switch to him after letting the Madame know in advance. The girl still gets paid for her time, so it's a win-win. Oh, and the customer can choose whether he wants the guy in private, or if he wants the girl to watch.

Some of the girls look kinda scandalized by this, which Haru finds pretty funny. It's like they've never even heard of male-male sex before. Haru grew up in a big city in the modern world, thanks, so she's definitely heard of it. Anyway, the guy introduced himself as Jaune. And once the explanation was done, the meeting was dismissed.

Haru doesn't get the chance to talk to him. Not right away. One of the other girls gets to him first. She gets roped into helping out in the kitchen, instead. And then the next thing she knows, several hours have passed, and it's showtime.

The brothel opens on time as usual. Haru serves food, chats with customers, dances a little bit and, of course, gets bought several times. Some of the guys are rough and their breath smells awful, but that's nothing new. Sumo doesn't come tonight and neither does the man with the silver hair.

Haru doesn't forget about the new guy. Once the pub opens, he's never seen downstairs. As usual, all her customers want to do it with her; none of them ask to sleep with the secret male prostitute. At the back of her mind, she kinda wonders whether this was all a hoax. But then she gets wrapped up in another client and forgets all about the blond guy, anyway.

She remembers, though, at the end of the night, after her final customer has walked out the door. She's coming back from the shower, wearing just a nightshirt, damp hair still clinging to her neck, when suddenly she spots him. There he is at the other end of the hall, striding forward and looking the same way she does: like he just washed off. Which can mean one of two things: either he's taking a regular shower before bed, or... someone actually bought him.

He's coming closer. Her feet grind to a halt. It'd be rude not to say anything, so...]
